Washington Commanders vs Indianapolis Colts: the favourite flip that created value in London
Washington opened around -1.5. Indianapolis now lay 3.5. A five-point swing on a neutral field tells you how much the market fears Jayden Daniels missing this game.
The Washington Commanders, the designated home team, face the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday 4 October at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. Kick-off is set for 15:30 Paris time (2:30 p.m. BST, 9:30 a.m. ET).
Both teams land in London at 1-2 after collecting their first win in Week 3. The Colts edged Houston 19-17, while the Commanders upset Seattle 33-31.
The total sits at 48.5. That number reflects two defenses that have each allowed more than 90 points across the opening three weeks.
London removes most of the usual home edge, so this is close to a straight matchup. The question is whether the line move went too far.
Our answer is yes. The hook above the key number of three is where the value lies.
Washington Commanders Analysis
Jayden Daniels remained limited in practice with a left elbow injury. If he is not cleared, Marcus Mariota starts again.
That is less of a drop-off than the market suggests. Mariota threw three touchdown passes in the win over Seattle and kept the offense on schedule.
He protected the football and allowed Washington to stay balanced. Against an Indianapolis defense that has already conceded 91 points, that formula works.
The injury report is the real worry. Guard Sam Cosmi and safety Nick Cross are ruled out, and running back Rachaad White missed Thursday practice with a shoulder issue.
Washington still have enough rushing ability and defensive playmaking to keep Mariota from carrying the whole load. That is the profile of a team that stays inside one score.

Indianapolis Colts Analysis
Indianapolis are the more stable team on paper. Daniel Jones gives them veteran control at quarterback.
Jonathan Taylor and cornerback Charvarius Ward both returned to full participation. Taylor is the Colts’ clearest route to dictating this game.
If Washington’s front is compromised, Taylor can create second-and-short all afternoon. That is how the Colts would cover a number this size.
There are concerns on their side as well. Keenan Allen was limited by a groin injury and tight end Mo Alie-Cox missed practice through illness.
The bigger problem is defensive. A unit that has given up 91 points in three games has not earned the right to lay more than a field goal away from home.
Probable lineup Washington Commanders: QB Jayden Daniels (limited, elbow) or Marcus Mariota. Sam Cosmi and Nick Cross out. Full lineup not announced at time of publication.
Probable lineup Indianapolis Colts: QB Daniel Jones, RB Jonathan Taylor, CB Charvarius Ward. Full lineup not announced at time of publication.

Our prediction: Washington Commanders +3.5 (odds 1.91)
Washington can lose by a field goal and still cash this ticket. The Colts have not shown the defensive control needed to win this one comfortably.
Mariota already proved last week that the offense functions without Daniels, and Daniels may yet play. Either way, the five-point market swing has gone too far.
The failure scenario is Taylor dominating the line of scrimmage and forcing Washington to chase. We back the points: a 27-24 type of finish is the most logical script.

About our free predictions
- What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal, and the script changes completely.
- Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
- The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses, that rarely ends well.
- A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation, that’s what they’re there for.
- Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
- Essential reminder: gambling is prohibited for minors and must comply with the laws of your country. Need help? Visit begambleaware.org.

Information changes
A prediction is always based on what we know at the time of writing. But between publication and kick-off, a lineup can change, a player picks up an injury, the weather turns, and the analysis can quickly be outdated. We cannot be held responsible for that.
