New York Giants vs Arizona Cardinals – Free NFL Prediction – 04/10/2026

New York Giants vs Arizona Cardinals: a home side gutted by injuries, a visitor in scoring form NFL

The Giants were favourites in the early numbers. They are not anymore, and the reason fits in two names: Jaxson Dart and Brian Burns.

The New York Giants host the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday 4 October at MetLife Stadium, in Week 4 of the NFL season. Kick-off is set for 19:00 Paris time (1:00 p.m. ET).

On paper, New York hold the better record at 2-1 after a 12-7 win over Tennessee. Arizona are 1-2, but they just put 30 points on San Francisco in a 36-30 defeat.

The week changed everything for the Giants. Dart is out for the rest of the regular season with a knee injury, and Burns tore his ACL in the win over the Titans.

The market flipped immediately. Arizona now lay 2.5 points with a total of 44.5, and the moneyline has the Cardinals around 1.70.

That 2.5 sits below the key number of three. For a team with the steadier quarterback and the healthier roster, that is a number worth attacking.

New York Giants Analysis New York Giants

Jameis Winston is expected to start. J.J. McCarthy, acquired from Minnesota for a 2027 fifth-round pick, is still learning the offense.

Winston can produce explosive throws, but he also brings volatility. A conservative game plan built around him is the likely approach from John Harbaugh’s staff.

The offense was already struggling before the quarterback change. The Giants have scored only 12 points in each of their last two games.

The defense loses its leader. Burns played through a low ankle sprain against Tennessee, tore his ACL and is now on injured reserve, which removes New York’s best pass rusher.

The injury list does not stop there. Left tackle Andrew Thomas missed Wednesday practice with a groin problem, and running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. is managing a knee issue.

Arizona Cardinals Analysis Arizona Cardinals

Arizona have shown more offensive explosiveness than New York through three weeks. Thirty points at San Francisco is proof that this attack can hurt good defenses.

Jacoby Brissett has given the Cardinals steady quarterback play. Steady is exactly what wins against an opponent in transition.

Without Burns, the Giants will struggle to pressure Brissett unless they blitz. That opens space for quick, efficient passing on early downs.

The weakness is on the other side of the ball. Arizona’s defense gave up 36 points last week, so the Cardinals cannot afford to treat Winston lightly.

Still, the Cardinals hold more ways to score touchdowns in this matchup. Against a Giants offense stuck on 12 points, that edge should be decisive.

Probable lineup New York Giants: QB Jameis Winston, LT Andrew Thomas (questionable, groin), RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. (knee). Full lineup not announced at time of publication.
Probable lineup Arizona Cardinals: QB Jacoby Brissett. Full lineup not announced at time of publication.

Our prediction: Arizona Cardinals -2.5 (odds 1.89)

Arizona only need to win by three. The Giants are replacing their starting quarterback and their defensive leader in the same week, and their offense was already stuck before either loss.

Brissett has the more stable situation and Arizona have the stronger recent attacking output. A result in the 23-17 range covers comfortably.

The risk is Winston hitting big plays against a defense that leaked 36 last week. We take it, because the gap in roster health is too wide to ignore at this price.

About our free predictions

  • What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal, and the script changes completely.
  • Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
  • The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses, that rarely ends well.
  • A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation, that’s what they’re there for.
  • Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
  • Essential reminder: gambling is prohibited for minors and must comply with the laws of your country. Need help? Visit begambleaware.org.

Information changes

A prediction is always based on what we know at the time of writing. But between publication and kick-off, a lineup can change, a player picks up an injury, the weather turns, and the analysis can quickly be outdated. We cannot be held responsible for that.
