Villarreal vs Getafe: 6-0 down to PSG, 12 points each and a visitor with three away goals in five
Paris Saint-Germain won 6-0 at the Estadio de la Ceramica on 3 November. Four days earlier, Espanyol had won 1-0 on the same ground. Villarreal have therefore lost their last two home games by a combined 7-0, and they play there again on Sunday 8 November, 17:30 UK time.
Getafe are the visitors, and they’ve got exactly the same league record: 11 played, three wins, three draws, five defeats, 12 points. Only the goals separate them. Villarreal sit ninth with 15 scored and 15 conceded, Getafe 13th with eight scored and 16 conceded.
That gap in scoring is the number we’d build around. Getafe’s eight goals in 11 league games are 0.73 a game, and their last five away matches have returned three goals with 11 conceded.
There’s a recent reason for caution with Villarreal too. Before the PSG game they’d been scoring freely: a 4-3 defeat at Liverpool on 20 October, a 2-1 win at Valencia four days later and 5-0 at Manacor in the Copa del Rey. The goals have stopped only in the last two home games.
The fixture itself has been close. Villarreal won 2-0 at home on 6 December 2025, and Getafe won 2-1 at the Coliseum on 14 February 2026. Before that came two 1-1 draws at the Ceramica and a 2-1 Villarreal win in Getafe.
Prediction markets put Villarreal’s chance of winning at around 67%, Getafe’s at 13%. We agree with the direction, but we’d rather attach our pick to Getafe’s shortage of goals than to a straight home win after a week like this.
Villarreal: 1.20 goals a game at home, 2.60 away
Villarreal’s last 10 games in all competitions show a strange split. They’ve averaged 2.60 goals scored on the road and 1.20 at home, conceding 1.40 away and 1.80 at the Ceramica.
Home points have followed the same line, at 1.40 a game against 1.80 away. The last five home matches read two wins, one draw and two defeats, with six scored and nine conceded, and six of those nine came in one night against PSG.
Taking PSG out leaves three conceded in four home games, and that’s the figure we’d trust against an attack of Getafe’s level. Champions League opponents of that quality aren’t a guide to a Sunday game against the 13th-placed side.
Availability is a concern at the back. Foyth, Gerard Moreno and Akhomach are all listed out with muscle problems, Saliba is also missing and Carlos Romero is doubtful. Reports differ on Mourino, who’s either suspended after three yellow cards or available.
Georges Mikautadze is the likeliest source of goals, priced at 2.00 to score at any time. The side has scored 15 in 11 league games.
Under Inigo Perez the side has lost three of its last five in all competitions, and two of those were at home. A third straight home defeat would leave Villarreal on 12 points after 12 games.

Getafe: eight league goals in 11, and one away win in the last five
Jose Bordalas said his side had hit rock bottom after losing 4-0 at San Mames on 25 October, three days after a 5-2 home defeat to Lugano in the Conference League. The response has been two wins: 3-2 at Lebrijana in the Copa del Rey and 3-1 over Sevilla on 1 November.
The Sevilla game was at home, though, and that matters. Getafe’s last five away games brought one win and four defeats, with three scored and 11 conceded. Over their last 10 away they’ve averaged 0.80 goals scored and 2.20 conceded, and 0.80 points a game.
The trips have been the problem all season: 3-0 at Barcelona on 10 October and 4-0 at Athletic Bilbao on 25 October.
The squad is also thin in attack. Juanmi and Christantus Uche are out with knee injuries and Zaid Romero with a muscle problem, and Mayoral has been listed as suspended after three yellow cards, though that needs confirming. Mangala is doubtful.
Getafe also played a Conference League game three days before this one, which leaves a short turnaround before the trip to the east coast.
Their 11 league games have averaged 0.73 goals for and 1.45 against.

Free La Liga Prediction: Villarreal vs Getafe
Our prediction: Both teams to score: No (around 1.80)
Getafe have scored eight league goals in 11 games and three in their last five away. They’re without Juanmi, Uche and, it seems, Mayoral, and they’ve played three days earlier in Europe. We don’t expect them to score at the Ceramica.
Villarreal’s seven conceded in their last two home games argue against this, but six came from PSG. In the other home games of that run they let in three in four, and Getafe’s away average is 0.80 goals.
The price of 1.80 was quoted earlier this week and it may move before kick-off. The market’s 67% implies a Villarreal win at about 1.49, which is thin after two home defeats, so the no-goal angle on Getafe is where we’d stand.

About our free predictions
- What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal, and the script changes completely.
- Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
- The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses: that rarely ends well.
- A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation: that’s what they’re there for.
- Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
- Essential reminder: gambling is prohibited for minors and must comply with the laws of your country. Need help? Visit begambleaware.org.
