Los Angeles Sparks vs Seattle Storm – WNBA Prediction – July 6, 2026

Los Angeles Sparks vs Seattle Storm : a game that could struggle to find any real tempo Women's National Basketball Association — Wikipedia

Los Angeles and Seattle meet in a big one for two teams still trying to kick-start their seasons. The Sparks are hanging on to hope of climbing back into the top eight, while the Storm have drifted towards the bottom after a long losing run. For all the shaky defending on both sides, the line looks awfully high for two teams going through a rough spell. The setup points to a game that could be far less explosive than expected.

The Sparks come in off four defeats in their last five outings. Sitting at just 44.4% wins this season, Los Angeles are still outside the playoff spots and can ill afford to keep dropping games against lower-ranked opponents.

Offensively, though, the numbers are still eye-catching. The Sparks are scoring close to 89 points a night this season and have enough firepower to turn it on when the shot starts falling. The real issue is at the other end, where they are giving up more than 94 points per game on average.

That weakness does not mean every Los Angeles outing has to turn into a shootout. Against a Seattle side that has struggled for any sort of consistency on offence, the Sparks may well try to slow things down. After a spell full of setbacks, the main priority is simply getting back in the win column.

The first meeting of the season showed Los Angeles can get the job done without the scoreboard going into overdrive. The Sparks won 88-83 in Seattle after taking control with a decisive fourth quarter.

Seattle are short on attacking answers Storm de Seattle — Wikipedia

The Storm’s situation is even uglier. Seattle sit second from bottom and have won only 22.7% of their games this season. After an 11-game losing streak, back-to-back wins briefly hinted at a revival. Two more defeats straight after knocked that optimism flat.

The big problem is still on offence. Seattle are averaging around 80 points per game, nowhere near enough to make up for the 86 they are conceding on average. When the Storm are slow to get going from outside, possessions drag on and the dry spells can last for minutes.

Away from home, that can drag the overall pace down even further. Against a Los Angeles team desperate to steady itself, Seattle may simply try to stay in touch for as long as possible rather than get dragged into a free-for-all.

Recent meetings also favour the Sparks, who have won four of the last five games between the two teams. Los Angeles appear to have found the formula to edge Seattle, but the margins have still been tight enough to suggest another fairly controlled contest.

WNBA Prediction : Los Angeles Sparks vs Seattle Storm

Under 174.5 points in the game

The line feels high given where both teams are right now. Los Angeles do have an offence capable of piling up points, but they are also on a run of disappointing results that should push them towards more control. Seattle, meanwhile, are plainly inconsistent going forward and are only scoring around 80 points per game this season.

The first meeting between these teams this year finished with 171 points overall, which was already under the line on offer here. A similar script looks very possible, with the Sparks gradually taking charge while Seattle may not have the offensive tools to drag the total into the 180s.

To get past that mark, both sides would probably need to shoot well for long stretches. Given the Storm’s recent struggles and Los Angeles’ need for a result, we are backing a game that stays tighter and cleaner than the Sparks’ defensive numbers might suggest.

First, a quick word on our predictions

  • What we publish on mathodds is analysis, nothing more. We offer an opinion, a read on the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport is still sport: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a freak goal out of nowhere… and the script changes completely.
  • Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when something looks “certain”, it really isn’t. And yes, that means you can lose. In fact, at some point, you will.
  • The smart move is to stay sensible. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Do not touch money you need to live on. And above all: do not chase losses. It rarely ends well.
  • A bet should stay a bit of fun, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your life, if it winds you up or puts you under pressure, take a break. And if needed, speak to a specialist support service. That is what it is there for.
  • At the end of the day, the responsibility is yours. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, even with the best analysis in the world.
  • Important reminder: betting is illegal for minors and must comply with the law in your country. Gambling can spiral fast (money losses, family tension, addiction). Need Help? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. In the UK? Visit https://www.gambleaware.org/https://www.gambleaware.org/.

No commitment from us

Information can change

A prediction is always based on what we know at the time of writing. But line-ups change, players get hurt, the weather turns, and the analysis can quickly go stale. We cannot be held responsible for that.
