The offence has lost its edge, too. Dallas are averaging 88.9 points this season, but that drops to 84.9 across their last 10 and 83.5 in their recent home games. That is hardly ideal when they are about to face one of the hottest attacks in the WNBA.

The Wings will also have to cope without Fudd, James and Verona. Even so, they still have players who can lift the scoreline. Bueckers has become a major part of the offence, Shepard is back, and Dallas have already shown they can live with a fast game against Indiana. That 107-104 win in May is the best example.

It is hard to ask for much more from the Fever right now. They are on a five-game winning streak and have taken eight of their last 10. The latest head-to-head with the Wings also went their way, with a 98-87 win on 15 August.

Indiana are standing out most for their scoring. Across their last 10 games, the Fever are putting up 101.4 points per contest. Even on the road, the drop-off is minimal, with 100.5 points over that recent stretch. For the season, they are averaging 93.4 away from home.

Kelsey Mitchell is a huge part of that surge and could push on with her run of 20-plus-point games. With Indiana playing full of belief, it is tough to imagine them coming to Dallas and trying to drag the pace down. If the Wings stay in touch early, the scoreboard could start climbing fast.
