One hundred million reasons to panic
That is what Tottenham are reportedly willing to pay for Savinho, according to Foot Mercato. Manchester City have not said yes. They have not said no either.
The 22-year-old Brazilian winger could be gone within days. Nothing signed, nothing official, but the noise around the deal has grown loud enough that City are already thinking about what comes next, because selling a starting wide man with the window about to slam shut is the kind of problem that does not solve itself.
Try it for $0.99.
Brazil again, because it worked the first time
The name doing the rounds is Allan Elias, once more via Foot Mercato. Left-footed right winger, 22, academy product, currently at Palmeiras.
If that reads like a copy of Savinho’s file, it is. Same age, same flank, same country, same route into Europe. City have leaned on that pipeline before and it produced the player they are now about to cash in on.
Elias’ season: 6 goals and 5 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions. Modest returns. But 41 games at 22 says a coach trusts him.
Palmeiras hold every card
Elias is tied down until December 2029. No urgency on their side, no pressure to negotiate, and a price that will reflect exactly that.
For now this is a lead. Nothing more. City have made contact and Palmeiras have listened.
The clock is the real opponent here. Sell Savinho, replace him, close a deal with a Brazilian club that has no reason to move quickly, all inside a handful of days. Business like this tends to land in the final hours of the window, or not at all.
