Trabzonspor vs Gaziantep FK: 13 scored and one conceded at Papara Park Süper Lig

Trabzonspor have won all four of their home league games this season, scoring 13 times and conceding once. Three of those four ended in clean sheets, and one of them was a 4-0 win over Galatasaray, the side now three points above them at the top of the Süper Lig.

Gaziantep FK are the next visitors to Papara Park on Sunday 1 November, kick-off 13:00 UK time. They arrive 14th with eight points from nine games, on a run of four straight league defeats, and with a squad list so short of fit players that their own team sheet is hard to predict.

Thomas Reis’s side are third with 19 points, built on 22 goals scored and 8 conceded. They’ve won six in a row in all competitions, including two Conference League wins, 4-2 at KuPS on 15 October and 2-0 at home to Hearts a week later.

The last result was the most telling. Trabzonspor were 2-0 down at Rizespor on 26 October and won 4-3, with Franculino Dju scoring twice, and that came a week after a 2-0 home win over Besiktas. A team that can come back from two down away from home isn’t one that panics at home against a side in the bottom half.

History points the same way. Trabzonspor haven’t lost to Gaziantep in at least 14 meetings, and at home since 2019 they’ve won six of seven against them, scoring 19. The only blot was a 1-1 draw in September 2025, and the most recent meeting, in February, ended 2-1 to Trabzonspor in Gaziantep.

Trabzonspor: six straight wins, even without Franculino Trabzonspor

Reis has a side that scores in bunches. Before the Rizespor game they’d won 5-0 at home to Genclerbirligi, 3-0 at Samsunspor on 10 October and beaten Besiktas, and over their last five games they’ve scored 15 goals and conceded five.

Salah is the main reason. He has eight league goals and three assists, and he plays off the striker alongside Simsir, who scored in the comeback at Rizespor along with M. Kabasakal.

Trabzonspor’s absences are concentrated up front. Franculino came off with a hamstring injury after his two goals against Rizespor and is out, and Onuachu’s fitness is unclear: one report has him back in training and ready to start, another lists him out with a muscle problem. Batagov, Malinovskyi and Okay Yokuslu are also missing, and Savic is a doubt.

Those absences change the shape more than the outcome. Without a fit centre-forward, more of the scoring falls on Salah, whose eight league goals already make him the club’s top scorer, and on Simsir arriving from deep.

Their two league defeats include a 1-0 loss at Konyaspor, and both came away from home. At Papara Park, Onana has been behind a defence that’s conceded once in four games, and Gaziantep have scored nine league goals all season.

Gaziantep FK: four defeats in a row and a long list of absentees Gaziantep FK

Gaziantep’s form has fallen away since September. They opened with a 4-2 win at Goztepe and a 0-0 draw at home to Fenerbahce, but since then they’ve lost 2-0 at Kocaelispor, 3-0 at home to Corum, 2-1 at Basaksehir on 18 October and 3-1 at home to Erzurumspor on 24 October.

The Erzurumspor defeat was the low point. Kerim Calhanoglu scored in the 70th minute, but by then Miguel Cardoso, Gerxhaliu and Giorbelidze had all found the net, and after the game assistant Cihan Unal spoke about uncertainty around the club with a congress on the horizon.

They did win in midweek, 4-0 against Etimesgut in the Turkish Cup, though that was against lower-league opposition. In the league they’ve scored nine goals in nine games and conceded 15, and their two top scorers, D. Sorescu and K. Kozlowski, have two each.

Nine players are missing. Abena is suspended for yellow cards, Sangare has a back problem and Bavuk a hamstring injury, and Tobiasz, Ogun Ozcicek, Sontje Hansen, Meleke, Arda Kizildag and Serdar Dursun are also listed as missing. Dursun scored their goal at Basaksehir.

Away from home, Gaziantep have actually been less bad: six of their eight points came on the road, from two wins in four games. That’s the one argument for them, but their two most recent trips, to Kocaelispor and Basaksehir, both ended in defeat.

Probable lineup Trabzonspor: Onana; Pina, Nwaiwu, Savic, Eskihellac; Kabasakal, Fabinho; Salah, Muci, Simsir; Onuachu
Probable lineup Gaziantep FK: Dadakdeniz; Destici, Sankaya, Kulasin; Gidado, Gassama; Genc, Bacuna, Cihan; Stewart (one defender to replace the suspended Abena)

Our prediction: Trabzonspor to lead at half-time and win the match at 1.91

A straight Trabzonspor win is around 1.30, which is too short to back, so I’d go one step further. Trabzonspor have scored 13 goals in four home league games and won all of them, while Gaziantep have conceded ten goals in their last four league games.

Gaziantep’s away record is the concession here, and it’s the reason I’m not going for a big handicap. But the visitors arrive without the suspended defender Abena and with eight other players missing, and teams in that state tend to fall behind early rather than late.

Trabzonspor have kept three clean sheets in four home games, so a Gaziantep lead at the break would go against everything this season has shown. Half-time/full-time Trabzonspor/Trabzonspor at 1.91 returns three times the profit of the straight win for a scenario I’d expect to happen.

About our free predictions

  • What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal, and the script changes completely.
  • Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
  • The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses: that rarely ends well.
  • A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation: that’s what they’re there for.
  • Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
  • Essential reminder: gambling is prohibited for minors and must comply with the laws of your country. Need help? Visit begambleaware.org.

Information changes

A prediction is always based on what we know at the time of writing. But between publication and kick-off, a lineup can change, a player picks up an injury, the weather turns, and the analysis can quickly be outdated. We cannot be held responsible for that.
