Strasbourg vs Paris Saint-Germain: PSG’s away record meets a Meinau unbeaten in three
Seven of their last eight competitive trips to Strasbourg have ended without defeat for Paris Saint-Germain. That’s the starting point for Saturday’s Ligue 1 meeting at the Stade de la Meinau, kick-off 17:15 Paris time.
It’s taken PSG a while to look like themselves this season. Draw, draw, defeat to open the league campaign, then three straight wins, the last a 3-1 over Le Mans. They’re sixth, but only three points behind leaders Monaco.
Europe has been a different story altogether. Two Champions League games, two wins and ten goals, the joint-most ever after the first two matchdays of a campaign. The latest was a 4-2 win at Manchester City on Wednesday.
Strasbourg are heading the other way. Hugo Oliveira’s side opened last month with a 6-2 thrashing of Troyes and haven’t won since: three games, capped by a 2-1 defeat at Nice last weekend that dropped them to 11th.
There’s one thing Strasbourg can lean on. They’re unbeaten in their last three league games at home, and they’ve taken points in two of their last three league meetings with PSG, including a 2-1 home win in 2025. It’s not nothing. It just isn’t much against a side in this kind of form.
Strasbourg: three without a win and a treatment room filling up
Sebastian Nanasi and Ismael Dokoure might not be available, Martial Godo’s dealing with muscle tightness, and Joaquin Panichelli is still recovering from a cruciate ligament tear. Oliveira can ill afford that many absences against this opponent.
The Nice defeat summed up the recent problem. Dario Essugo, on loan from Chelsea, opened the scoring with his first goal of the campaign. Minutes later, a Pape Demba Diop own goal wiped it out, and Strasbourg went on to lose 2-1.
It’s become a pattern. In two of their last three league games where they scored first, Strasbourg dropped five points in total. Leads don’t stick.
Over the last five games, it’s two wins, a draw and two defeats, with eight goals conceded. Seven points from six fixtures leaves them mid-table and short on rhythm. A draw or a defeat here would mean dropping points in consecutive home league games for the first time this season.
The Meinau’s been a refuge, three league games unbeaten going back to last season. That’s the one argument in their favour. It won’t get easier from here.

Paris Saint-Germain: three straight league wins and ten Champions League goals in two games
Ten goals in two Champions League matches. PSG put six past Slovan Bratislava and then four past Manchester City at the Etihad, with Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele, Vitinha and Maghnes Akliouche all on the scoresheet in Manchester.
Domestically, the turnaround’s been just as clear. Three league wins in a row, the latest a 3-1 against Le Mans with Lucas Beraldo, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Akliouche scoring. Win here, and it’s four straight, one shy of their longest league run this year.
Luis Enrique’s side are unbeaten away from home this season. Since the start of 2024, they’ve dropped points in only two domestic away games after scoring first, and lost just one of those. When PSG go ahead on the road, they stay ahead.
The squad news is mostly positive. Nuno Mendes was back in the fold on Wednesday, while Senny Mayulu and Alessandro Longoni are questionable with leg problems. Achraf Hakimi, Willian Pacho and Joao Neves are all in line to start.
They won this exact fixture 2-1 last season. This version looks sharper.
Probable lineup Strasbourg: Jorgensen; Antwi, Hogsberg, Coulibaly, Oso; Diop; Reyna, Essugo; Yassine, Ortega, Amo-Ameyaw
Probable lineup Paris Saint-Germain: Safonov; Hakimi, Zabarnyi, Pacho, Digne; Zaire-Emery, Neves, Fernandez; Akliouche, Torres, Doue

Our prediction: Paris Saint-Germain to win and Over 1.5 goals
PSG’s straight win at 1.40 falls below our minimum, so the angle shifts to a PSG win in a game with at least two goals. Strasbourg have conceded eight in their last five. PSG have won four of their last five and scored ten in two European matches.
Strasbourg’s home run is the one counterweight, but it’s built on three games and a side that can’t hold a lead. PSG, by contrast, almost never let a lead slip away from home once they’re in front.
A 2-0 or 3-1 covers this comfortably. The case is clear.

About our free predictions
- What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal, and the script changes completely.
- Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
- The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses, that rarely ends well.
- A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation: that’s what they’re there for.
- Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
- Essential reminder: gambling is prohibited for minors and must comply with the laws of your country. Need help? Visit begambleaware.org.

Information changes
A prediction is always based on what we know at the time of writing. But between publication and kick-off, a lineup can change, a player picks up an injury, the weather turns, and the analysis can quickly be outdated. We cannot be held responsible for that.
