Strasbourg vs Monaco: the leaders arrive at the Meinau with five wins from five 
Monaco have won all five of their competitive matches since the start of the 2026-27 season. No French club has begun anywhere near as well as Filipe Luis’s side.
Strasbourg, meanwhile, came into the campaign on the back of a dreadful warm-up run: seven matches, one draw, six defeats. Then they were brushed aside in Marseille on the opening weekend.
Two league games were enough to turn the mood. A 2-1 win over Lens at the Meinau, followed by a 2-6 demolition of promoted Troyes, and suddenly the Alsatians are up in sixth.
Kick-off for this fourth-round clash is set for Saturday 12 September at 17:15 local time at the Meinau.
Monaco’s backdrop is just as busy. ASM booked their place in the Conference League at the expense of Gornik Zabrze, 7-3 on aggregate, before rolling on in the league.
The trip to the Parc des Princes was the real test. Monaco conceded their first goal of the season there, but still turned over the champions, 1-2.
Hugo Oliveira, who took over at Strasbourg this summer, is getting his first proper home examination. The betting has already split the difference: 3.10 for Strasbourg, 2.10 for ASM.

Strasbourg scored six at Troyes on matchday three. That display wiped out the scars of their opening-day flop at the Velodrome in one hit.
The 2-1 win over Lens at the Meinau had already provided the spark. Strasbourg are now on two straight wins and are hunting a third on Saturday.
That turnaround has come without Joaquin Panichelli or Godo, who scored 20 and 16 goals respectively in 2025-26. Both are injured and working their way back.
The squad has been heavily reshaped this summer. Ortega, formerly of Real Madrid Castilla, Conrad Harder, on loan from Leipzig, Giovanni Reyna, formerly of Monchengladbach, and midfielder Sousa, signed from Vitoria Guimaraes, all played their part in the Troyes rout.
At the back, Antwi, on loan from Chelsea, and Mitchell, signed from Sturm Graz, have settled in as starters. Goalkeeper Jorgensen, also loaned from Chelsea, has filled the gap left by Penders.
Oyedele and young forward Washington remain doubts. Washington is the only signing who has yet to appear in a matchday squad since arriving.

Monaco have not let up since August 
Five matches, five wins: Monaco’s record is spotless. Their European qualification against Gornik Zabrze ended 7-3 on aggregate.
In the league, ASM started with a 0-1 win at Le Havre before beating Marseille 2-0. Their third straight victory came at the Parc des Princes, 1-2, against the reigning champions.
That trip to Paris delivered two clear lessons. Monaco conceded their first goal of the season, but they also showed they can flip a match that starts going the wrong way.
Nazinho, signed from Cercle Bruges this summer to replace Caio Henrique after his move to Ajax, scored his first goal there. Idumbo then settled it with the winner.
The standout so far is Brunner, who has four goals in five appearances. His form has softened the blow of Balogun’s absence. The club’s top scorer last season is injured.
Salisu is also a long-term absentee. Fati remains a doubt and Golovin, who has one goal and two assists, is expected to leave the principality for Russia later this week.
Expected Strasbourg XI (4-2-3-1): Jorgensen – Antwi, Mitchell, Doukoure, Oso – Diop, Sousa – Yassine, Reyna, Nanasi – Ortega.

Our prediction: Monaco win
A side that has won its first five matches and gone to the Parc des Princes and won does not get judged on the opponent in front of it. ASM have been the best French team since August.
Strasbourg are pushing on without Panichelli or Godo, which means 36 goals are sitting in the treatment room. The 6-2 win at Troyes was against a promoted side, not the league leaders.
Monaco’s price is around 2.10, which works out at an implied probability of 46%. That’s the best value on the card: back Monaco to win.
