Sevilla vs Deportivo Alaves: Manu Bueno banned, and a fixture that keeps ending with both sides scoring
Manu Bueno was sent off in Sevilla’s 3-1 defeat at Getafe and misses Friday’s game, and Marcao is also out injured. Those are the first two names missing from a side that has won three of its five home league games and sits sixth.
Sevilla have 17 points from 11 matches, with five wins, two draws and four defeats. Alaves are five points behind them on 12 and in 11th, and the two clubs share a goal difference of minus two, which is a fair sign of how little separates their underlying seasons.
Kick-off at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan is 20:00 UK time on Friday 6 November, in round 12 of La Liga. Before that defeat at Getafe, Sevilla had won 3-0 at Sporting Hortaleza and beaten Osasuna 2-0 at home.
Alaves come in on a worse run, with no win in their last five league games. Barcelona beat them 6-1 last time out, Malaga held them 1-1 before that, and they still haven’t won away from home in La Liga this season.
The bookmakers have Sevilla at around 1.95, the draw at 3.40 and Alaves at 4.00. The more useful price in this match isn’t on the winner. Goals have flowed at both ends of Sevilla’s games all season, and the head-to-head has followed the same pattern for almost three years.
Sevilla: 19 conceded in 11 games, and four players missing
Sevilla have scored 17 league goals and conceded 19, an average of 1.6 for and 1.7 against. Around 73% of their games this season have had both teams scoring, and the run of results explains why: 3-3 at Levante, 4-1 at Real Madrid, 3-1 at Getafe and 3-1 at home to Barcelona.
The 1-0 win at Deportivo and the 2-0 win over Osasuna are the only clean sheets in their last six league matches, and they conceded three or more in the other four.
Marcao and Bueno are both unavailable, and there’s a major doubt over forward Isaac Romero, who was named among the concerns this week. Miguel Sierra and Jon Guridi have also been listed as injured, with four confirmed absentees reported in total.
Without Romero the attacking load would fall on Ejuke, who’s expected to play wide, and on whoever leads the line. Alaves have conceded 17 in 11 games, which gives Sevilla a chance to match their 1.6-a-game average even with a changed forward line.
The Pizjuan has helped, with three home wins from five, though Barcelona won 3-1 there. Sevilla have also drawn this fixture at home in each of the last two seasons, 1-1 both times.

Deportivo Alaves: no away win yet, but a record against Sevilla that holds up
Alaves have won four of the last 12 meetings with Sevilla, drawn four and lost four. That’s a level record for a club sitting 11th against one sitting sixth, and they’ve lost only one of the last seven between these clubs.
The last six meetings tell the story more clearly. Sevilla and Alaves drew 1-1 in February, Alaves won a cup tie 1-0 in December, Sevilla won 2-1 at Alaves in September 2025, and the three before that finished 1-1, 2-1 to Alaves and 3-2 to Alaves. Both teams scored in five of those six.
Their league form has dropped badly, though. They’ve taken two points from their last five games, losing 2-1 at Celta Vigo, 2-1 at home to Atletico Madrid and 6-1 at Barcelona, and they’ve conceded 1.6 a game across the season.
Facundo Garces and Mikel Rodriguez are both out with cruciate ligament injuries. Reports also have Lucas Boye suspended, with Rebbach and Manas sidelined, though not every team sheet this week agrees on those three, so the forward line is the part of this side to check before kick-off.
Alaves score 1.4 a game, and about 64% of their matches have seen both teams on the scoresheet. Even in the 6-1 at Barcelona they found the net, and they scored in the defeats at Celta and at home to Atletico as well, so a blank at a Sevilla side letting in 1.7 a game looks unlikely.

Our prediction: Both teams to score at odds of 2.00
Sevilla should have enough to edge this, but at 1.95 I’d rather back what both sides have done all season. Five of the last six meetings have had goals at both ends, only Osasuna and Deportivo failed to score against Sevilla in their last six league games, and Alaves have scored in each of their last three defeats.
The argument against is Alaves’ attack if Boye and Rebbach really are both missing, and the fact that Under 2.5 goals is priced at 1.67. Their road record is also bad, with no away win in La Liga this season.
Even so, Sevilla’s defence without Bueno and Marcao gives Alaves a route to at least one goal. Both teams to score at 2.00 is the pick, with a 2-1 home win the most likely result.

About our free predictions
- What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal, and the script changes completely.
- Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
- The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses: that rarely ends well.
- A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation: that’s what they’re there for.
- Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
- Essential reminder: gambling is prohibited for minors and must comply with the laws of your country. Need help? Visit begambleaware.org.
