Sassuolo – AC Milan: A trap the Rossoneri need to avoid
Sunday football doesn’t get much tastier than this in Emilia-Romagna. AC Milan head to Sassuolo with both sides in a bit of a grey area. On one side, the Lombardy club have long since parked any title talk and now have to fight to stay on the podium. On the other, Sassuolo are playing with freedom and chasing a top-half finish after a stunning rise. Expect an open contest where the stakes could quickly give way to a tactical scrap.
Sassuolo are playing with total freedom
Sassuolo have been in impressive form over the past few weeks. The club have picked up 23 points from their last 13 matches, which puts them virtually fifth in the division over that run. They come in off a solid draw against Fiorentina and sit a deserved tenth.
At home, Sassuolo have won five of their last seven games, which tells you plenty about the mood in the camp. They want to finish the season strongly in front of their own fans. A positive result against AC Milan would be another sign that Sassuolo are back where they belong.
AC Milan running out of ideas
For AC Milan, the mood is a touch flatter after the goalless draw with Juventus. They are struggling for attacking spark and stars such as Leao and Pulisic look short of their best. Massimiliano Allegri is all about pragmatism, but Milan are simply not shooting enough, with numbers that are historically low this season. The good news is the defence is holding up, with two straight clean sheets and 15 shutouts overall.
Milan still have a comfortable cushion over the chasing pack, but they cannot afford to let it slip now. Historically, they travel well to Reggio Emilia, where they are unbeaten in eight. Even so, they will need to be much sharper if they are to avoid being bullied by the home side. The job is clear: get the job done and keep the pressure off in the run-in.
Likely lineups
Sassuolo : Turati; Walukiewicz, Muharemovic, Idzes, Garcia; Kone, Matic, Thorstvedt; Berardi, Pinamonti, Lauriente
AC Milan : Maignan; Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlovic; Saelemaekers, Fofana, Ricci, Rabiot, Estupinan; Pulisic, Leao

Football Prediction Sassuolo vs AC Milan
both teams to score
This clash between Sassuolo and AC Milan should be lively enough, with both sides having real reasons to feel optimistic. The hosts have a dangerous attack and a well-balanced setup under Fabio Grosso, which gives them the tools to trouble just about any defence. On the other side, despite their patchy form, the visitors still have enough quality in the final third to break the deadlock at any moment. With Sassuolo playing without pressure and Milan needing a result, the likeliest script is one where both nets bulge. A draw would hardly be a disaster for a Milan side still searching for certainty.

Before anything else, a word on our tips
- What we publish on mathodds is analysis, nothing more. We share an opinion, a read on the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport is still sport: unpredictable. A red card, a tactical mess, a goal from nowhere… and the whole script changes.
- Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks obvious, it really isn’t. And yes, that means you can lose. In fact, you will at some point.
- The best approach is to stay sensible. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never touch money you need to live. And above all: do not chase losses. That rarely ends well.
- A bet should stay a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts to take over your day, winds you up or puts you under pressure, step away. And if you need to, speak to a specialist support group. That’s what they’re there for.
- In the end, the responsibility is yours. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and never goes away, even with the best analysis in the world.
- Important reminder: betting is illegal for minors and must comply with the law in your country. Gambling can spiral fast, with money losses, family tension and addiction. Need Help? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. In the UK? Visit https://www.gambleaware.org/https://www.gambleaware.org/.
No commitment from us
Our predictions are not a contract. They have no legal force. Put simply: you cannot use them to demand anything if a bet goes wrong.
Information moves fast
A prediction is always based on what we know at the time it is written. But in the meantime, a team sheet changes, a player gets injured, the weather turns… and the analysis can quickly become outdated. We cannot be held responsible for that.
