Lyon are up in fourth with four points after a wild 40-36 win over ASM Clermont. The Lyon side claimed the first try of the Top 14 season.
So both teams arrive with very different momentum, but there are defensive questions at both ends. Lyon let Clermont claw back from 20 points down.
For Racing, it is mainly about putting things right and giving their own fans something to cling to. Another heavy defeat would leave a scar that is hard to shift.

Racing 92 collapsed 64-5 on the pitch of Union Bordeaux-Begles. 10 tries conceded, including six before the break as the score moved to 38-0.
Four of those tries came inside the first 15 minutes, before the visitors had even settled. The contest was done and dusted after 25 minutes.
Max Machenaud called it schoolboy stuff at half-time, and he was not exactly being dramatic. Patrice Collazo did not hide his disbelief on the touchline.
The one bright spot was the try from Australian newcomer Seru Uru on 64 minutes. It was not converted, but it at least stopped a complete blank.
The club signed Thomas Ramos this summer, a move that showed real intent for the campaign. That ambition looks a long way from what they produced in Bordeaux.
14th and last, Racing have to start making home advantage count. The table leaves them no wiggle room.

LOU Rugby won a mad one at Gerland 
Lyon beat ASM Clermont 40-36 on opening day. 40 points scored, four tries made, four conceded.
The start from Lyon was perfect, racing into a 20-0 lead by the half-hour mark. Gabin Lorre opened the scoring after three minutes, pouncing on a Clermont mess near the line.
Signed last season after scoring six tries for Beziers, the Lyon full-back claimed the first try of the 2026-2027 campaign. His sharp instincts set the tone for the night.
The catch for Lyon came after the interval, when Clermont got right back into the fight in terms of tries. LOU were down to an eight-point lead with eight minutes left.
Letting a 20-point cushion slip is a warning sign, plain and simple. They won, sure, but they also handed Clermont a defensive bonus.
Fourth in the table, Lyon head to the bottom side with a chance to keep the momentum rolling. Not many second-round fixtures hand you a clearer opening.
