New York Giants vs Tennessee Titans – Free NFL Prediction – September 27, 2026

New York Giants vs Tennessee Titans: backup quarterbacks set for a scrap at MetLife Stadium NFL

Week 3 in the NFL throws up a game few saw coming in this shape. The New York Giants host the Tennessee Titans at MetLife Stadium on Sunday at 19:00 Paris time.

The picture changed fast. Jaxson Dart, the rookie installed as the Giants’ starter, suffered a serious knee injury on Monday night against the Rams.

He is headed for surgery, and his 2026 season is over.

Jameis Winston now steps in for the Giants. He had already finished the game against Los Angeles, completing 11 of 27 passes and throwing one interception.

Across the field, Tennessee arrive with no points on the board after two weeks. The Titans lost at home to the Jets and then to the Eagles, two results that do not exactly scream momentum heading into New Jersey.

Both sides are also dealing with a heavy injury list this week, which makes this one a harder read than usual.

The betting market has the Giants as home favourites, with a three-point spread and a total of 40.5 points for the game.

That line suggests a tight contest, even with New York’s messy situation, and it reflects the fact Tennessee have yet to show much away from home this season.

There is also a little MetLife subplot here: the Jets, who share the building, opened their season by beating these same Titans in Nashville. The Giants will be hoping to keep the trend alive on their own turf.

New York Giants: a new quarterback takes over New York Giants

The New York Giants are 1-1 after two weeks. Their win came at home, 28-20 against Dallas in Week 1.

It got much rougher after that. The Giants were beaten 28-6 by the Rams on Monday night, a game that was defined by Dart going down with a first-quarter injury.

Winston changes the shape of the offense. The former Buccaneers and Browns quarterback is a veteran, but his brief run against Los Angeles did not inspire much confidence on the accuracy front.

Wednesday’s injury report lists several offensive and defensive players as limited in practice, including linebacker Brian Burns, who missed sessions altogether, along with receiver Malik Nabers and tackle Andrew Thomas.

Those fitness issues hit important pieces of the setup, but they also affect the other side, leaving both teams with a similar level of uncertainty before kickoff.

The loss in Los Angeles said plenty about how much work remains without Dart. Matthew Stafford finished with 22 completions from 31 attempts for the Rams, a level of efficiency New York never got close to matching.

At home, though, the Giants do have one positive reference point: that opening win over Dallas at the same MetLife Stadium where they now welcome Tennessee.

Tennessee Titans: no wins, and a battered run game Tennessee Titans

Tennessee are 0-2 after back-to-back home defeats to start the season, 10-23 against the Jets and then 20-24 against the Eagles.

This trip to New York comes at a bad time for the run game. Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears, the Titans’ two running backs, did not train on Wednesday, both bothered by ankle injuries.

Without both men at full tilt, Tennessee lose part of their ability to control the ball and ease the load on an offensive line that has already been under pressure in the first two games.

The team’s injury report also shows limited participation along the defensive front, with defensive lineman Solomon Thomas dealing with a knee problem.

Against a Giants side now shuffled at the game’s most important position, Tennessee need a functioning ground game if they are going to land their first win of the season, and that is exactly the piece they are missing right now.

So far, both defeats have come at home, against the Jets and the Eagles. This trip to New York is therefore the Titans’ first proper road test of the season.

Without a fully available run game, the offense will have to lean more heavily on the pass to turn things around, a tricky ask against a New York defence that held Dallas to 20 points in Week 1.

NFL Prediction New York Giants vs Tennessee Titans

Our pick: New York Giants to win

The Giants are at home, where they have already beaten Dallas this season, and the market quite rightly makes them favourites despite the forced change at quarterback.

Tennessee, meanwhile, head in with both of their starting running backs sidelined, a blow that cuts down the options for a team still stuck at the bottom of the standings.

Between a New York offence that can at least lean on an experienced quarterback and a winless opponent weakened in the run game, the edge goes to the Giants at MetLife Stadium.

The three-point line leaves little room either way, but the signs point towards New York: they are at home, they have already put 28 points on the board this season, and Tennessee do not have an obvious backup plan on the ground.

Before anything else, a word on our free picks

  • What we publish on mathodds is analysis, nothing more. We give an opinion, a read on the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport is what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a goal from nowhere… and the script changes completely.
  • Let’s be clear: there is no risk-free bet. Even when something looks “obvious”, it never really is. And yes, that means you can lose. In fact, you will at some point.
  • The best approach is to stay sensible. Bet small, set yourself a budget and stick to it. Do not touch money you need to live on. And above all: do not chase losses, it rarely ends well.
  • A bet should stay a bit of fun, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your life, if it annoys you or puts you under pressure, take a break. And if needed, speak to a specialist organisation. That is what they are there for.
  • In the end, responsibility is yours. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never go away, even with the best analysis in the world.

No commitment from us

Our picks are not a contract. They carry no legal weight. In plain English: you cannot use them to claim anything if a bet loses.

Information changes

A prediction is always based on what we know when it is written. But in the meantime, a team sheet changes (like the New York Giants’ one, for example), a player gets hurt, the weather turns… and the analysis can quickly be out of date. We cannot be held responsible for that.

Your role

Before you bet, make sure betting is legal where you are. If it is not, that is your responsibility, not ours.
