New England Revolution vs Toronto FC : the Revs are looking to kick on again 
After more than two months away from Gillette Stadium in league play, New England Revolution are finally back in front of their own fans and eager to get straight back to winning ways. Beaten just before the break, Marko Mitrovic’s side want to build some momentum again and keep pace with the top teams in the Eastern Conference.
Toronto arrive with more questions than answers. A decent draw against CF Montreal on the restart offered a little encouragement, but the Canadians are still stuck in the bottom half of the table and remain a long way from consistent on the road.
New England Revolution remain strong at home 
The defeat to Charlotte before the interruption does not erase the excellent work done since the start of the season. At home, New England are one of the standout sides in MLS, with seven wins already, proof that Gillette Stadium remains a proper fortress.
The team still runs through the influence of Carles Gil. The Spanish playmaker continues to pull the strings in the Revs’ attack and has also been sharp in front of goal. He has scored in half of New England’s home league matches this season, underlining how important he is when the pressure is on.
Around him, Diego Fagundez and Tai Baribo Turgeman offer plenty of attacking options, while Matt Turner provides real security between the posts. With that balance, New England have every chance of setting the tempo.
Toronto FC are still struggling away from home 
The draw against CF Montreal at least stopped a run of four straight defeats in all competitions. It brought some defensive relief, but there is still plenty of work to do before Toronto can talk about any real upward turn.
Away from home remains the big problem. The club have won only one of their last five MLS games on the road and have already conceded three or more goals several times away from BMO Field. That sort of weakness could be badly exposed against a side this strong at home.
Jonathan Osorio’s return brings experience into midfield, but Robin Fraser will be demanding a collective response first and foremost. The visitors will need far more control of the ball if they want to make life awkward for the Revolution.
