Paris FC no longer just want to survive
Paris FC have got the message: after a successful first season in Ligue 1, looking over their shoulders is no longer enough. Promoted last year and safely tucked away in 11th place, the Paris club are now heading into year two with a much clearer aim. Settle in. Build. And maybe, just maybe, start eyeing the European spots.
That thinking is showing up in the transfer market. After several other additions were already lined up, PFC have now confirmed the arrival of Lassine Sinayoko from AJ Auxerre. The 26-year-old Mali forward has signed through to 2029 in a deal estimated at between 8 and 10 million euros.
A smart piece of business. Not the flashiest signing of the summer, but exactly the sort of addition that can reshape an attack.

Sinayoko arrives off the back of a big season
At Auxerre, Lassine Sinayoko was never just another name on the teamsheet. He had become a key player, developed at the club, trusted in a range of roles and, crucially, a difference-maker. Last season he delivered 12 goals and 4 assists in 32 appearances.
Strong numbers, especially for a club like AJA where every point matters. Sinayoko made his presence felt down the stretch too, when matches get heavier, chances cost more and the players with some steel about them step up.
Paris FC are getting a forward who knows Ligue 1, is entering his peak years and does not arrive as some risky lottery ticket from abroad. He has already shown he can do it in this division.
Auxerre eventually opened the door
The contract situation clearly mattered. Sinayoko had only one year left on his Auxerre deal. In that position, AJA could hardly shut down every approach without risking losing him for nothing later on.
The Burgundy club have therefore accepted his departure for a fee in that 8 to 10 million euro range. For Paris, it is a serious outlay but one that fits the plan. For Auxerre, it is a sensible sale, even if losing a homegrown player who can decide games always leaves a sting.
Sinayoko, meanwhile, steps up a level. He leaves the club that developed him for a project on the rise, with more exposure, more ambition and probably more pressure too.

An already busy window
This move fits into a summer where Paris FC are plainly not messing around. The club have already moved on several fronts, with the arrivals of Emmanuel Mbemba, free after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, as well as Pablo Pagis, Diego Coppola and Patrick Zabi. In all, close to 58 million euros has already been committed to strengthening the squad.
This is no longer the recruitment of a promoted side just trying not to go under. It is the work of a club pushing to accelerate.
The change is just as clear in the dugout, with Liam Rosenior coming in. The former Strasbourg and Chelsea coach arrives with a plan to give the side a fresher feel, a stronger identity and higher standards.
A profile that should help plenty
Sinayoko brings a few useful things to Paris FC. Power, running in behind, proper bite in duels and a knack for making things happen without needing the whole team built around him. He can attack space, hassle defenders, hold the ball up, press hard and offer a more direct option when the move breaks down.
For a team looking to take the next step, that matters. Paris needed an attacking player who could give their frontline some shape, not just a name to look good in a statement.
Sinayoko is not an international superstar. But he fits that reliable, useful bracket of player who can quickly become vital if the system suits him.
