Back on American soil
Rafael Nadal is heading back to the United States. The 22-time Grand Slam champion will play the MGM Slam exhibition at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on February 28, 2027, according to an announcement Monday. The arena is home to the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights.
It will be the 40-year-old Spaniard’s first appearance on a U.S. court since he retired from the ATP Tour in 2024. In the press release, Nadal said he keeps the same passion for the sport, only without the pressure of the tour.

A date just before Indian Wells
The event sits in a notable spot on the calendar, a few days ahead of the ATP 1000 tournament in Indian Wells, California.
There is a precedent. At the same exhibition in 2024, during his final ATP season, Nadal faced fellow Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, now world No. 3. No opponent has been mentioned for 2027, but a rematch of that pairing would sell the building on its own.
