Marseille vs Le Havre: seven straight wins in this fixture, and the visitors still without one this season
Marseille won 5-2 at Angers last Sunday. It was only their third league win of the season, after an autumn that’s brought four league defeats and two home losses in Europe and the league in the space of a month.
They host Le Havre on Sunday at 16:15 UK time sitting ninth on nine points, three wins and four defeats from seven games. Le Havre are 18th with two points and remain the only side in Ligue 1 without a league win.
Le Havre have scored five league goals all season and conceded 11. Their most recent game was a 3-1 home defeat to Auxerre on 18 October, and before that they lost 1-0 at Lille.
The head-to-head has been one-sided for a long time. Marseille have won the last seven league meetings, including 6-2 at the Vélodrome in October 2025, 5-1 there in January 2025 and 3-0 in October 2023.
Six of those seven games went over 2.5 goals, and both teams scored in five of them. The one low-scoring game was the 1-0 Marseille win at Le Havre on 10 May.
Marseille play Sturm Graz away in the Europa League on Thursday, so a trip to Austria sits between the Angers win and this game. I’m not convinced that’s enough to stop them against a side that’s lost five of seven.
Marseille: back-to-back away wins after a poor run at the Vélodrome
The win at Angers followed a 2-0 victory at Troyes on 11 October, so Marseille have won their last two league games, both away from home and both by at least two goals.
Results at the Vélodrome have been far less kind to them. They lost 2-1 to PSG there on 20 September, and three days before Angers they lost 1-0 at home to Olympiacos in the Europa League. Their home record across their last ten games in all competitions reads one win in four.
The four league defeats include a 1-0 loss at Rennes on 11 September and the PSG game. In Europe they were also beaten 4-1 at Besiktas on 17 September, six days after the 1-0 defeat at Rennes.
Their goal difference of +4 is healthy for a ninth-placed side, and the Angers result accounts for a lot of it. Across their last ten games in all competitions they’ve averaged 1.50 goals scored and 1.60 conceded.
Amine Gouiri led the line in the most recent starting XI, with Paixão, Harit and Abdelli behind him. Weah and Emerson started at full-back, with Kondogbia and Egan-Riley in the middle.
Against Le Havre the Vélodrome results have been emphatic: 6-2, 5-1 and 3-0 in the last three home meetings. Marseille have scored at least three in every one of those games.

Le Havre: two points from seven games and one goal in their last two
Le Havre lost 3-1 at home to Auxerre last Sunday. It was their fifth defeat of the season and left them with nothing but two draws to show for seven games.
Their two points came from a 1-1 draw at Lyon on 29 August and a 0-0 at home to Angers on 12 September. The draw at Lyon remains their best result, given Lyon now top the table.
Until Auxerre, every Le Havre defeat had been by one goal. They lost 1-0 to Monaco, 2-1 at home to Brest, 3-2 at Toulouse and 1-0 at Lille, and the 3-1 against Auxerre was the first time anyone beat them by two.
Le Havre’s attack is what keeps them bottom. Five league goals in seven matches is among the lowest totals in the division, and over their last ten games in all competitions they’ve averaged 0.80 goals per match and failed to score in four.
Away from home their record is two draws, a win and two defeats across the last five trips in all competitions, which is better than their home form. The 1-1 at Lyon and the narrow defeats at Toulouse and Lille show they can keep games close on the road.
None of that has carried over to this fixture. Le Havre have lost the last seven league meetings with Marseille and conceded 23 goals in the process, more than three a game.
Probable lineup Marseille: De Lange; Weah, Egan-Riley, Kondogbia, Emerson; Kamissoko, Tocukvu; Harit, Abdelli, Paixão; Gouiri
Probable lineup Le Havre: Not announced at time of publication

Our prediction: Marseille to win at 1.53
Marseille have won seven league meetings in a row with Le Havre and scored three or more in each of the last three at the Vélodrome. Le Havre are winless, have five league goals and conceded three at home to Auxerre last time out.
Marseille’s home form is the one thing that gives me pause, along with Thursday’s trip to Graz. They’ve lost to PSG and Olympiacos at the Vélodrome since mid-September, and their home record over the last ten games is poor.
Le Havre aren’t a side of PSG’s or Olympiacos’s level, and they’ve scored three league goals away from home all season, one at Lyon and two at Toulouse. Two straight away wins have put Marseille’s season back on track, and at 1.53 I’d back them to beat the bottom-three side they’ve beaten seven times running.

About our free predictions
- What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal, and the script changes completely.
- Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
- The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses: that rarely ends well.
- A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation: that’s what they’re there for.
- Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
- Essential reminder: gambling is prohibited for minors and must comply with the laws of your country. Need help? Visit begambleaware.org.
