Luca Zidane gets a fresh start at Leganes
Luca Zidane has a new home. The goalkeeper put pen to paper with CD Leganes on Friday. The Spanish second-division side say the deal runs for one year, with an option for a second.
He arrived as a free agent after two seasons at Granada, where his contract was left to expire. Leganes moved fast to firm up their options between the posts.

A return to the Madrid area
The logic writes itself. A Real Madrid academy product, Zidane knows Spanish football down to its smallest details, and now he continues his career a short drive from where it began, at a club sitting on the edge of the capital.
The 28-year-old Algeria international lands with one clear aim. Play, and play often. He comes off a World Cup he watched from the outside with the Fennecs, and Leganes have offered him the platform to rebuild his rhythm.
The Zidane name still carries weight
That surname drags a lot behind it. Luca keeps doing things his own way. After Granada, Leganes is where he restarts.
