Lille vs Galatasaray Champions League prediction

Lille vs Galatasaray – Free Champions League Prediction – 21/10/2026

Lille vs Galatasaray: 34th against 35th, with nothing on the board for either side Champions League

Lille are 34th in the league phase with no points and a goal difference of minus four. Galatasaray are one place below them, also on zero, with goals for and against of 2-7.

Lille lost 3-2 at home to Real Betis on the opening night, with Ethan Mbappé sent off, and then lost 3-0 at Arsenal on 13 October. Galatasaray were beaten 3-1 at Sporting and then 4-1 at home by Barcelona.

Domestically both are near the top. Lille were second in Ligue 1 before Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Brest, which left them on 14 points from seven games. Galatasaray, the Süper Lig champions, went into the weekend top with 19 points from eight and then won 1-0 at Gençlerbirliği.

The two clubs have never met. Victor Osimhen links them: he played for Lille before moving on, and he now leads Galatasaray’s attack and has six league goals and three assists this season.

Kick-off is 5.45pm UK time at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy. Defeat for either side would leave them with nothing from nine points and a long way off the top 24.

The prices make Lille around 2.15 and Galatasaray around 3.10. I think the gap should be bigger.

Lille’s last home game in Europe ended 3-2 to Betis, and Galatasaray’s last away game in Europe ended 3-1 to Sporting. Both defences have been opened up repeatedly, and the both-teams-to-score price sits between 1.53 and 1.60 as a result.

Lille: unbeaten at home in the league, but down to the bare bones at the back Lille

Davide Ancelotti’s side have drawn 2-2 with PSG, beaten Troyes 2-0 and Le Havre 1-0, and drawn 1-1 with Brest at Pierre-Mauroy. Four home league games, no defeats, and three goals conceded.

The goals are spread around. Ayase Ueda, Bakwa and Tiago Santos have two each in the league, Haraldsson has one and Olivier Giroud has a goal and two assists. Ueda also scored against Betis.

Tiago Santos won’t add to his tally. He’s ruptured a cruciate ligament and is out for the season. Ethan Mbappé is suspended after his red card against Betis, and Igamane is a long-term absentee who isn’t registered for the competition.

Berke Özer missed the Brest game after taking a knock at Arsenal, but Ancelotti said the goalkeeper should be fit for Wednesday. Alexsandro was rested on Saturday, a sign of where Lille’s priorities lie this week.

Their only league defeat came at Nice, 2-1, on 20 September. Lille have won four of their seven league games and lost only that one.

The Arsenal defeat was heavy, but it came away to one of the strongest sides in the competition. The Betis loss is the one that should worry Ancelotti, because it came at home with ten men.

Ueda should lead the line ahead of Giroud, with Bakwa and Haraldsson either side of him. Bentaleb, André and Mukau make up the midfield three in a 4-3-3, and Özer’s return in goal would give Ancelotti his first-choice spine back.

Galatasaray: Osimhen’s goals in Turkey, 3.5 conceded per game in Europe Galatasaray

Okan Buruk’s side have won seven of their nine league games, including 4-0 at Erzurumspor and 3-2 at Basaksehir. They’ve also lost 4-0 at Trabzonspor, on 19 September, and that result is why I don’t trust their away form as much as the table does.

In Europe they’ve conceded seven goals in two games, three at Sporting and four at home to Barcelona. Over their last six matches in all competitions they’ve averaged 2.5 goals conceded, and 83% of those games went over 2.5 goals.

The 4-1 home defeat to Barcelona on 13 October was the heavier of the two European losses. Across both games they’ve scored twice, and the 3-3 friendly at Pendikspor during the international break followed the same theme: Galatasaray score, and they concede.

Osimhen remains the main threat with six league goals and three assists. Batrakov has one of their two Champions League goals and plays behind the striker.

Singo is out with a thigh injury, and Torreira is a doubt after taking a knock against Barcelona. Losing Torreira would leave Lemina and Sara to cover the base of midfield.

Six squad players aren’t registered for the Champions League, including Arda Yilmaz and Güner. The Fenerbahçe derby on 26 October is next in the league, and Galatasaray go into it still top.

Saturday’s 1-0 at Gençlerbirliği was the kind of away result that keeps a title race going, but it doesn’t suggest a team ready to take three points in France.

Probable lineup Lille: Özer; Goffi, Ngoy, Alexsandro, Perraud; André, Bentaleb, Mukau; Bakwa, Ueda, Haraldsson
Probable lineup Galatasaray: Çakir; B. Yilmaz, D. Sánchez, Jakobs, Elmali; Lemina, Torreira; Akgün, Batrakov, Leão; Osimhen

Free Champions League Prediction: Lille vs Galatasaray

Our prediction: Lille to win @ 2.15

I’d back Lille at 2.15. They haven’t lost at home in the league this season, against PSG included, and they’ve conceded three goals in those four home games.

Galatasaray have shipped seven goals in two European games and lost 4-0 on their last big away day at Trabzonspor. Singo is out, Torreira is doubtful, and the derby with Fenerbahçe is five days later.

Osimhen can score against any defence and Lille are without Tiago Santos and Ethan Mbappé, so I’m not expecting a clean sheet. A Lille win, with the home crowd, Özer back in goal and Ueda leading the line, is still the result I see.

About our free predictions

  • What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal, and the script changes completely.
  • Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
  • The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses: that rarely ends well.
  • A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation: that’s what they’re there for.
  • Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
  • Essential reminder: gambling is prohibited for minors and must comply with the laws of your country. Need help? Visit begambleaware.org.

Information changes

A prediction is always based on what we know at the time of writing. But between publication and kick-off, a lineup can change, a player picks up an injury, the weather turns, and the analysis can quickly be outdated. We cannot be held responsible for that.
