Free two years ago, 12 million now
Estoril have put a price on their top scorer, and it is not a modest one. Twelve million euros. Foot Mercato report that Lazio have registered their interest in Yanis Begraoui, the 25-year-old Moroccan forward who has just finished the best season of his career in Portugal. No formal bid has landed yet. The lines are open, though.
What makes the asking price sting is where Begraoui came from. He walked into Estoril on a free transfer in the summer of 2024.

Twenty goals for a mid-table side
The number that moved his market: 20 in the league last season. Estoril spend most campaigns scrapping around the middle of Liga Portugal, so producing a striker with that return is unusual. He carried the attack more or less alone.
Toulouse developed him and gave him his first minutes, but Ligue 1 never really opened up for him. Portugal looked like a step sideways when he left for nothing. Two years on, his valuation has gone from zero to eight figures. Few players climb back that quickly after a free exit.
Why Lazio are looking here
The Roman club need bodies in attack and are shopping in the sensible end of the market rather than chasing names. A 25-year-old finisher who has proved himself in a physical league fits what they can afford.
Then there is the fee. Twelve million for someone who has never carried this kind of load in one of the big five leagues means paying for potential, not proof. Nothing so far suggests Lazio are willing to go there.
