A record that’s stood for decades
Moise Kean can make Italian football history on Friday. The Fiorentina striker has the chance to score in a seventh straight international, a first for the Azzurri.
The current record stands at six matches. It is shared by three legends: Roberto Bettega, Luigi Riva and Adolfo Baloncieri. Kean, who has scored in his last six appearances for Italy, against Germany, Estonia twice, Israel, Northern Ireland and Bosnia, now has only one man left to beat: himself.

A special first for Mancini too
There is a different edge to this one. Italy face Belgium on Friday in the Nations League, as Roberto Mancini takes charge of the Azzurri for the second time. With 13 goals in 26 caps, Kean is already the top scorer in the squad, ahead of Giacomo Raspadori on 11.
The striker, long written off after a failed spell at Everton and a mixed loan at PSG, has rebuilt his career at Fiorentina since arriving in 2024. He has since nailed down the No 9 shirt and looks nothing like the raw prospect who left Juventus with more hype than end product.
Another goal on Friday would only cement that status, hard-earned but now clear for all to see, and give Italy a strong start to this new Mancini era in charge of the Azzurri.
