One point from five games
One point. After five rounds of Serie B, that’s all Juve Stabia have left to show for it. And once again, it’s down to a fresh sporting sanction handed down on Thursday.
The Campania club have been docked another two points. Owner Alfredo Guerri is the man they’re paying for it. He is under investigation for fraud and has just had 153 million euros seized by the Naples authorities.

A sprawling investigation
The case goes back to 2021. Guerri is accused of collecting tax credits linked to the Superbonus 110% scheme, Italy’s energy-renovation programme, for work that was never done or never finished. Two construction companies are involved. A further 14.5 million euros had already been seized in July.
From a footballing point of view, the punishment does not stem from that personal investigation but from financial-stability documents that were ruled invalid and filed in April for Serie B approval. The club had already been hit with a two-point deduction before the season even began, over other financial irregularities.
A club under pressure
Guerri took control of the club just two months before the story blew up. A new board has since been installed, with Alfonso Morrone as president. Juve Stabia, who reached the promotion play-off semi-finals last season, have had their hopes dented before their campaign has really even got going.
