Juventus vs Lazio Serie A prediction

Juventus vs Lazio – Free Serie A Prediction – 18/10/2026

Juventus vs Lazio: an unbeaten visitor and a host that can’t finish Serie A

Lazio sit five points above Juventus after six rounds. Few would have written that in August, especially after the Biancocelesti crashed out of the Coppa Italia to Mantova in their very first game of the season.

The data paints a specific picture here. Gennaro Gattuso’s side have five wins and a draw in Serie A, they’re level on 16 points with leaders Inter, and they’ve won all three of their away league games while conceding once.

Juventus, meanwhile, live two lives. In Europe they’re perfect: a 5-0 thrashing of NEC and a 2-1 comeback at Celta Vigo on Thursday. At home in the league, they’ve won just one of their last four, and they’ve slipped to sixth.

Add a touchline subplot. Luciano Spalletti was sent off after a confrontation with Cagliari coach Fabio Pisacane last weekend, and he’ll serve his ban from the stands on Sunday night (kick-off 20:45 Paris time). Two former Italy coaches, one of them stuck watching from above.

So what decides it? Look at the scorelines. Five of Juve’s six league games and four of Lazio’s six have finished with two goals or fewer. This doesn’t look like a fixture built for fireworks.

The recent head-to-head points the same way. Juventus have taken only two points from the last three league meetings with Lazio. The numbers don’t lie: this matchup has been a grind for the home side.

Juventus: perfect in Europe, one win in four in Serie A Juventus

A 1-1 draw in Cagliari. That’s the result Juventus carry into this weekend, and it came with a red card for the manager attached.

Their league run reads W-W-D-L-W-D, and the detail doesn’t bear close inspection. Nine goals scored in six games isn’t the return of a title contender. The 3-2 loss at Sassuolo was the only game where they leaked, and the 1-1s against Milan and Cagliari both came down to wayward finishing.

Spalletti is expected to rotate again, and the squad can ill afford it. Captain Manuel Locatelli is out, so are Kenan Yildiz, Khephren Thuram, Jeff Ekhator and reserve keeper Kamil Grabara. Jeremie Boga is a doubt. That’s a creative spine with a lot of holes in it.

There’s one bright spot. Randal Kolo Muani has nine goal involvements in his last nine European games, he scored and hit the bar at Cagliari, then found the net again in Vigo. He could take the central role back from Nick Woltemade, who also scored on Thursday.

Still, this is a side that’s been far better in midweek than at the weekend. Three games in eight days, half a midfield missing and a coach in the stand. Not ideal timing to meet the form team.

Lazio: three away wins, one goal conceded on the road Lazio

Gattuso could become the first Lazio coach to win six of his first seven Serie A games in charge. That’s the stake for the visitors on Sunday.

The away record is the headline. Bologna 0-1, Udinese 1-2, Venezia 0-2. Three trips, nine points, one goal conceded. It’s not flashy, but it’s a side that knows what it’s about.

They did it again last week against a 10-man Monza, winning 3-1 with goals from Nuno Tavares, Gustav Isaksen and Andrea Pinamonti. All of that at a near-empty Stadio Olimpico, with the supporters’ boycott still running. A team winning in silence. That takes some character.

The squad isn’t untouched, though. Albert Gudmundsson dislocated a shoulder on Iceland duty and won’t be back until after the next international break, and winger Matteo Cancellieri is injured too. Danilo Cataldi is fit again, while Adam Marusic and Nicolo Rovella are close but may not travel.

Up front, it’s Pinamonti or Tijjani Noslin. Noslin has four goal involvements in his last three matches, and his first Serie A goal came against Juventus back in February 2024. If Gattuso wants pace in behind a stretched Juve midfield, he’s the obvious call.

Can Lazio keep it tight in Turin? Everything they’ve done on the road this season says yes.

Probable lineup Juventus: Vicario; Kalulu, Bremer, Lucumi, Celik; Luiz, Sarr; Zhegrova, McKennie, Gonzalez; Kolo Muani
Probable lineup Lazio: Mandas; Floriani Mussolini, Doekhi, Provstgaard, Tavares; Frattesi, Belahyane, Taylor; Isaksen, Noslin, Zaccagni

Free Serie A Prediction: Juventus vs Lazio

Our prediction: Under 2.5 goals (odds around 1.87)

It’s not complicated: Juventus at home, with nine league goals in six games and a depleted midfield, against a side that’s conceded once in three away games. The numbers point one way, and it isn’t towards a shootout.

Nine of the twelve league games these two have played this season finished with two goals or fewer. Juve’s only high-scoring game was the defeat at Sassuolo, and Lazio’s only one was the 2-2 with Milan at home. Their head-to-head has been tight too, with Juventus taking just two points from the last three meetings.

Picking a winner here is close to a coin toss, which is why we’d rather back the shape of the game. Under 2.5 goals at around 1.87 is our call.

About our free predictions

  • What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal — and the script changes completely.
  • Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
  • The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses — that rarely ends well.
  • A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation — that’s what they’re there for.
  • Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
  • Essential reminder: gambling is prohibited for minors and must comply with the laws of your country. Need help? Visit begambleaware.org.

Information changes

A prediction is always based on what we know at the time of writing. But between publication and kick-off, a lineup can change, a player picks up an injury, the weather turns — and the analysis can quickly be outdated. We cannot be held responsible for that.
