That continuity could help Castres on an opening weekend when plenty of sides are still feeling their way. Their senior players know what is expected from the first whistle.

RC Vannes did not just climb the ladder, they dominated Pro D2 from start to finish. The Bretons finished clearly top of the regular season before taking care of business in the playoffs.
That run ended with a semi-final win over Oyonnax and then a final victory against Provence Rugby. It gave them the title and an immediate return to the top flight.
Their first shot at Top 14 rugby, in 2024/2025, ended badly. They finished bottom and never really got close to living at that level.
That history is a warning against getting carried away. A promoted champion is still a promoted side, and the jump between the two French divisions usually bites early.
Still, Vannes do arrive with one number that is hard to ignore. Nine wins, one draw and five defeats away from home last season made them the best travelling side in Pro D2.
That record says plenty about the character in this group. A side that wins regularly on the road in the second tier is not likely to turn up scared.
