Boston Bruins vs Florida Panthers – Free NHL Prediction – Nov 08

Boston Bruins vs Florida Panthers: 24 hours from Washington to TD Garden NHL

Florida won all three meetings with Boston last season, 4-3 at TD Garden on 21 October 2025, 5-4 in a shootout on 4 February and 2-1 on 2 April. Sunday 8 November, puck drop 1:00pm ET, is the first of four meetings this season.

The afternoon start is what stands out this time. Florida plays in Washington at 12:30pm ET on Saturday, so the Panthers will have about 24 and a half hours between puck drops, with a flight to Boston in the middle.

Boston went into Thursday’s game in Pittsburgh at 11-4-1, first in the Atlantic with 23 points. The Bruins are 7-1-0 at home, have won six straight at TD Garden and average 3.56 goals a game against 2.38 allowed.

Florida is 9-5-2 with 20 points, fifth in the division, and it’s done that without Aleksander Barkov or Brad Marchand. The Panthers are 7-2-1 in their last 10 and beat Chicago 5-3 on Wednesday.

Florida is 5-3-2 away from Sunrise, the kind of road record that keeps a tired team in games. We couldn’t confirm a reliable line at the time of writing.

Boston Bruins: 7-1-0 at home, and 2.38 goals allowed a game Boston Bruins

David Pastrnak leads Boston with 20 points, eight goals and 12 assists. Elias Lindholm has 13, and James Hagens has 12 with six goals. Peterka and Geekie have 11 each, so the Bruins have five players at a point every other game or better through 16 games.

The goaltending has been the steadier part of the team. Jeremy Swayman is 8-3-1 with a 2.31 goals-against average and a .913 save percentage, and DiPietro is 3-1-0 with a 2.26 and a .929. Swayman stopped all three shootout attempts in the 3-2 win over Vegas on Monday.

That’s the second straight home win that needed extra time, after a 5-4 overtime win over Chicago on 31 October. Boston had lost 4-1 in St. Louis and 2-1 in Carolina before that, so the road results haven’t matched what’s happening at TD Garden.

Special teams are ordinary. The power play ranks 19th at 20.0%, 10 goals from 50 chances, and the penalty kill is 18th at 76.4%. Florida’s numbers are better on both. Boston’s 3.56 goals a game comes mostly from even strength, with 10 of its 57 goals on the power play, and it has scored at least five in two of its last five games.

Boston has nobody on injured reserve. Poitras left the Vegas game and was back at practice on Wednesday, though he wasn’t expected to play on Thursday. Kuraly and Brunet were both expected back shortly. The Bruins play in Pittsburgh on Thursday and then have two days at home before this game.

Florida Panthers: 7-2-1 in their last 10 without Barkov and Marchand Florida Panthers

Vilmanis had two goals and two assists against Chicago on Wednesday, with Verhaeghe, Seth Jones and Reinhart also scoring, and Markstrom faced so little that he needed fewer than 20 saves. That took Florida’s average to 3.25 goals a game, with 2.94 allowed.

Matthew Tkachuk leads the team with 22 points, 18 of them assists. Jones has 19, Brady Tkachuk 16 with eight goals, and Reinhart and Verhaeghe have nine goals each. Florida is 7-2-1 over its last 10 with Barkov (knee) out through at least 27 November and Marchand (knee) through at least 21 November.

Special teams are a clear strength. The power play is at 23.9% and the penalty kill at 84.6%, both better than Boston’s figures, and the kill should limit Pastrnak’s chances if the game stays tight.

The crease is less settled. Bobrovsky left for Toronto in the summer, and Florida now shares the net between Markstrom, who’s 4-2-1 with a 2.50 goals-against average and an .890 save percentage, and Schmid, 5-2-1 with a 2.86 and an .889. Saturday in Washington likely goes to one of them and Sunday to the other, and Florida hasn’t said which.

Mikkola took a shot off the right leg on Wednesday and was described as a little sore, and Gadjovich is out through at least 28 November. Florida’s last five results read 5-3, 3-5, 5-2, 5-1 and 3-2, and the 3-5 was a home loss to Detroit, so four of the five reached at least five goals for Florida or against it.

Our prediction: Boston Bruins to win

We’d take the home team here. Boston is 7-1-0 at TD Garden, allows 2.38 goals a game and has two goalies with save percentages above .910. Florida’s two sit at .890 and .889, and the Panthers will be starting a game 24 and a half hours after the last one began, with a flight in between.

Last season’s 3-0 series and Florida’s better special teams are real, and the Panthers have gone 7-2-1 with Barkov and Marchand out. The 7-1-0 home record is the number we trust more, along with this season’s 2.38 goals allowed.

The Bruins will have had two full days off at home. That rest advantage, plus Boston’s edge in goal, outweighs Florida’s power play for us on an early Sunday start. Check both starters on the morning of the game, and the price against our 1.45 floor. If Swayman played in Pittsburgh on Thursday, he’ll have had two days off before this one.

About our free predictions

  • What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal, and the script changes completely.
  • Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
  • The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses: that rarely ends well.
  • A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation: that’s what they’re there for.
  • Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
  • Essential reminder: gambling is prohibited for minors and must comply with the laws of your country. Need help? Visit begambleaware.org.

No commitment from us

Our predictions carry no contractual value. They have no legal standing. In short: you cannot rely on them to claim anything if a bet doesn’t come through.

Information changes

A prediction is always based on what we know at the time of writing. But between publication and kick-off, a lineup can change, a player picks up an injury, the weather turns, and the analysis can quickly be outdated. We cannot be held responsible for that.

Your responsibility

Before placing a bet, simply check that gambling is legal in your country. If it isn’t, that’s your responsibility, not ours.

Responsible gambling

We can’t say it enough: gamble responsibly. If you’re struggling to stay in control, don’t wait to seek help.
