Blackburn Rovers vs Wrexham – Free Football Prediction – 24/10/2026

Blackburn Rovers vs Wrexham: Gudjohnsen’s six goals against a defence without a clean sheet in six Championship

Blackburn Rovers led 2-0 at The Hawthorns on 17 October and lost 3-2. Andri Gudjohnsen scored both goals that afternoon, taking him to six for the season, and West Brom’s winner came in the 89th minute.

Tony Mowbray’s side return to Ewood Park on Saturday (3pm UK time) to face Wrexham, who arrive on the back of a 4-1 home win over Preston on the same day. Four different players scored for Phil Parkinson’s team: Worrall, Whiteman, Smith and Moore.

One point separates the clubs. Blackburn are 10th with 15 points from 11 games, four wins, three draws and four defeats, with 17 scored and 16 conceded. Wrexham are 14th on 14 points from three wins, five draws and three defeats, with 15 scored and 16 conceded.

Stoke hold sixth on 19 points, four ahead of Blackburn and five ahead of Wrexham, so a win for either side would put them right behind the top six.

Wrexham haven’t kept a clean sheet in six games, though they’ve taken seven points from their last four. The Preston result also eased some of the pressure on Parkinson, four days after a 2-1 home defeat to West Brom on 13 October.

Wrexham won the last meeting at Ewood Park, 2-0 on 1 January 2026, and the reverse fixture at the Racecourse in November 2025 finished 1-1. We expect goals at both ends this time.

Blackburn Rovers: three home wins and an attack built around Gudjohnsen Blackburn Rovers

Before the trip to West Brom, Blackburn had won two in a row: 2-1 at home to Cardiff on 10 October and 1-0 at Bristol City three days later. They’d also beaten Millwall 3-1 at Ewood Park on 12 September and drawn 2-2 at Portsmouth a week later.

Their home record is three wins and two defeats from five, with nine scored and seven conceded. Both home defeats finished 2-1, against QPR and Sheffield United, so Blackburn have scored in every one of those league games at Ewood.

Gudjohnsen’s six goals account for more than a third of the team’s 17, and the expected XI has him alone up front with Fevrier, Cantwell and Afolayan behind him.

Morishita injured an ankle at West Brom and is ruled out. Ribeiro, Ohashi and Miller are also missing, and a longer list of names has been reported as doubtful.

Mowbray is expected to keep Morsy and Montgomery together in central midfield, with Alebiosu and Pickering at full-back either side of McLoughlin and Atcheson.

Blackburn conceded three times at The Hawthorns after leading by two, and they’ve let in 16 goals in 11 league games.

Wrexham: Moore on five goals and seven points from the last four games Wrexham

A 1-1 draw with Burnley on 8 September was followed by a 6-0 defeat at West Ham, a 2-1 home win over Southampton, a 1-1 draw at Derby, the home loss to West Brom and then the Preston win.

Away from the Racecourse they’ve won once, drawn three and lost once, scoring five and conceding eight. Take away the West Ham result and that becomes a side that’s hard to beat on the road, with the win a 3-0 at Millwall.

Kieffer Moore is the top scorer with five, and the expected shape puts Sam Smith alongside him with O’Hare behind them. Joe Worrall, a summer signing from Burnley, scored against Preston and anchors a back three with Doyle and Hyam.

Josh Windass is out with an ankle injury, and Cleworth, Thomason and Cacace are also listed as unavailable. Sheaf and Broadhead are closer to returning.

Imray and Ekomie are expected at wing-back, with Kabore pushing for a start on the right. Whiteman and James should sit in front of the back three.

Parkinson’s side have scored in five of their last six league games, with the 6-0 defeat at West Ham the only exception. They’ve conceded in all six.

Probable lineup Blackburn Rovers: Toth; Alebiosu, McLoughlin, Atcheson, Pickering; Montgomery, Morsy; Fevrier, Cantwell, Afolayan; Gudjohnsen
Probable lineup Wrexham: Patterson; Doyle, Worrall, Hyam; Imray, Whiteman, James, Ekomie; O’Hare; Smith, Moore

Our prediction: Both teams to score (odds 1.83)

Blackburn have scored in every home league game this season and Wrexham haven’t kept a clean sheet in six. The visitors have scored in five of their last six, and Moore and Smith give them two players capable of finishing chances against a defence that conceded three at The Hawthorns.

The case for a tight game is Wrexham’s away defence outside the West Ham match, and Blackburn’s 1-0 win at Bristol City. Neither side has kept a clean sheet often enough to make us trust it here.

At 1.83 we prefer both teams to score over picking a winner between sides separated by a point. Gudjohnsen for the hosts and Moore for the visitors are the most likely sources of the goals.

About our free predictions

  • What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal, and the script changes completely.
  • Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
  • The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses: that rarely ends well.
  • A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation: that’s what they’re there for.
  • Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
  • Essential reminder: gambling is prohibited for minors and must comply with the laws of your country. Need help? Visit begambleaware.org.

Information changes

A prediction is always based on what we know at the time of writing. But between publication and kick-off, a lineup can change, a player picks up an injury, the weather turns, and the analysis can quickly be outdated. We cannot be held responsible for that.

Your responsibility

Before placing a bet, simply check that gambling is legal in your country. If it isn’t, that’s your responsibility, not ours.

Responsible gambling

We can’t say it enough: gamble responsibly. If you’re struggling to stay in control, don’t wait to seek help.
