Bayern Munich vs Arsenal: 18 home goals in three games against a defence yet to concede in Europe
Luis Díaz scored three times as Bayern Munich beat RB Leipzig 6-1 on Saturday, and Harry Kane added two goals inside a minute early in the second half. Bayern produced 4.27 expected goals to Leipzig’s 0.62.
That result took Vincent Kompany’s side to 14 points from six Bundesliga games, unbeaten with 22 goals scored and five conceded. Their Champions League campaign has been less tidy: a 5-0 win over Bodø/Glimt was followed by a 3-3 draw at Viking last Tuesday.
Arsenal haven’t conceded a goal in the league phase. Mikel Arteta’s team won 1-0 at Napoli on matchday one and beat Lille 3-0 last Tuesday, and their six points put them seventh, three places and two points above Bayern.
Arsenal won 3-1 when the sides met in the league phase in November 2025; Bayern knocked them out of the 2023-24 quarter-finals with a 1-0 home win after a 2-2 draw in London. Across the last six meetings, friendlies included, each side has two wins and two have been drawn.
Kick-off at the Allianz Arena is 20:00 UK time on Wednesday 21 October. Arsenal play at Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon, giving them three days to recover. We expect both attacks to have the better of the defences.
Bayern Munich: 18 goals in three home games, but Musiala is out and Neuer is a doubt
Bayern’s last three home matches have finished 5-0 against Bodø/Glimt, 7-0 against Union Berlin and 6-1 against Leipzig. That’s 18 goals scored and one conceded at the Allianz Arena since early September.
Kane has three Champions League goals from 11 shots, six of them on target. His double against Leipzig took him to 102 Bundesliga goals in 100 games, the fastest any player has reached the 100 mark in the competition.
Michael Olise has two goals and 11 chances created in Europe, and Díaz’s hat-trick on Saturday earned him the man-of-the-match award. Jamal Musiala won’t be part of it: he picked up a thigh injury on international duty and is ruled out.
Manuel Neuer has missed the last two games with fluid in his foot, and Jonas Urbig will start again unless the captain trains early in the week. Kompany himself watched the Leipzig game from the bench with a hip injury while his assistants ran the touchline, though sporting director Max Eberl says he’ll be with the squad on Wednesday.
Bayern have been far less secure on their travels, conceding six goals in their last three trips, at Elversberg (2-1 win), Augsburg (2-2) and Viking (3-3), and every one of their last six games has produced at least three goals.

Arsenal: no goals conceded in Europe, but Saliba, Hincapié and Tzolis are all missing
The reigning Premier League champions went into Sunday’s game at the City Ground second in the table on 15 points from six, three behind Manchester City. Their last league outing was a 2-1 home win over Leeds, in which they came from behind.
The European record is clean so far, with four goals scored and none conceded. The domestic one includes a 3-0 defeat at Brighton on 19 September, and four of Arsenal’s last six games have finished with three or more goals.
William Saliba is out with a back problem, Piero Hincapié has an ankle injury and summer signing Christos Tzolis, a £34m arrival from Club Brugge, has a hamstring strain. Martín Zubimendi is a doubt but could return.
That puts Ezri Konsa, signed from Aston Villa in the summer for around £55m, alongside Gabriel in central defence. Bruno Guimarães, a £75m arrival from Newcastle, is expected to partner Declan Rice in midfield.
Viktor Gyökeres should lead the line, with Eberechi Eze, Mikel Merino and Noni Madueke behind him. Bukayo Saka has a goal and an assist in this season’s competition and is in contention to start.
Probable lineup Bayern Munich: Urbig; Laimer, Upamecano, Kim, Brown; Kimmich, Pavlović; Olise, Saibari, Díaz; Kane.
Probable lineup Arsenal: Raya; Timber, Gabriel, Konsa, Lewis-Skelly; Rice, Guimarães; Madueke, Merino, Eze; Gyökeres.

Our prediction: Over 2.5 goals at 1.50
Every one of Bayern’s last six matches has gone over 2.5 goals, and they’ve scored 18 in three home games. Kane has hit the target with more than half his Champions League shots, and Olise has created 11 chances in two European outings.
Arsenal’s two clean sheets in Europe argue against the pick, but they came against Napoli and Lille, and the back line in Munich will be without Saliba and Hincapié. Bayern also conceded three times at Viking only eight days before this game, and Arsenal have scored in each of their two European fixtures.
The price for over 2.5 goals ranges from 1.44 to 1.55, with 1.50 widely available. Both teams to score sits between 1.42 and 1.50, mostly below our threshold. The result itself is close to a coin toss, with Bayern at 2.00 to 2.10 and Arsenal between 2.80 and 3.10, so we prefer the goals line. Kane is priced at around 2.05 to score at any time, the shortest of any player in the match.

About our free predictions
- What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal, and the script changes completely.
- Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
- The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses: that rarely ends well.
- A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation: that’s what they’re there for.
- Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
- Essential reminder: gambling is prohibited for minors and must comply with the laws of your country. Need help? Visit begambleaware.org.

Information changes
A prediction is always based on what we know at the time of writing. But between publication and kick-off, a lineup can change, a player picks up an injury, the weather turns, and the analysis can quickly be outdated. We cannot be held responsible for that.
