Angers vs Troyes: eight home games, eight blanks for SCO 
Angers have not picked up a point at home in Ligue 1 for eight straight matches. Across that run, the club from Anjou have never scored more than once in front of their own fans.
That stat matters heading into round five, because SCO Angers are hosting the opponent they most often beat on home soil. Angers have won their last five meetings with Troyes at the Stade Raymond-Kopa, across all competitions.
The table has Angers 11th with four points from four games. They are two points above the relegation play-off spot, but seven teams sit below them.
Troyes are in a similar place in the standings, but their season has split neatly into two parts. The promoted side took four points from their first two games, then lost the next two by an aggregate score of 8-2.
They had gone through their summer build-up unbeaten too, with four wins and two draws. That momentum lasted just two league matches.
Nine goals conceded in four games tells the story for Troyes. Stephane Dumont’s defence has shipped more than any side in the top half of the table.
Kickoff is set for Saturday, 19 September at 20:45 Paris time. Two teams still searching for rhythm, then, with the home side holding a clear historical edge in this fixture.

SCO Angers have taken four points from four games, with just one win on the board. That victory, a hard-earned 3-1 at Auxerre in late August, remains their only convincing display so far.
Angers then lost 2-1 at home to Rennes before grinding out a 0-0 draw at Le Havre. That point on the road in Normandy also brought their first clean sheet of the season.
Anthony Lopes posted that shutout with six saves against Le Havre, in his first season wearing Angers colours. The former Nantes keeper gives them a level of security they did not have in recent campaigns.
The issue is what they are producing at home: just one goal at the Stade Raymond-Kopa since the start of the 2026-27 season. Even so, Angers have taken points in four of their last five league matches when they have led at half-time.
Stephane Gilli should have Haris Belkebla back, after he missed the last game with a leg injury. The midfielder is still a doubt, a week after Mouton returned to the squad.
Up top, El Ouazzani leads the line for Angers with one goal so far this season. SbaI out wide and van den Boomen in midfield complete Gilli’s attacking setup.
The run of eight home games without a point comes with a stubborn pattern on the scoreboard: Angers have never scored more than once in any of those matches. Their home problem is attacking first, defensive second.

Troyes: two heavy defeats and an attack still finding its feet 
Troyes made a decent start to life back in the top flight with a 0-0 draw against Paris FC and a 2-1 win at Lorient. The next two games brought a brutal reality check.
A 6-2 hammering by Strasbourg and a 2-0 loss at Lille took their goals-against tally to eight across two matches. ESTAC are now trying to avoid a third straight Ligue 1 defeat, something that has not happened since 2023.
The odd thing about Troyes is this: they rank second in the league for recoveries in the final third, averaging 6.3 per game. That high press is not turning into goals, though, with Troyes posting the third-worst scoring record in Ligue 1.
Renaud Ripart and Lucas Le Douaron are the only players in the squad to have scored, with one each. Ripart and Lucas Maronnier got the goals in the win at Lorient, Troyes’ only victory of the season.
The injury list is causing problems for Dumont, with both first-choice full-backs out — Ismael Boura on the left and Yvann Titi on the right. Ifnaoui and Gozzi are also missing, just as they were for the trip to Lille.
There is still one reason for optimism away from home: Troyes have a perfect record this season when they score first on the road, thanks to that 2-1 win at Lorient on matchday two. The Aube club can make it two away wins, one fewer than in their entire last top-flight campaign in 2022-23.
Phliponeau, a midfielder used in a supporting role, is also a doubt for the trip. Dumont may have to reshuffle both flanks against a side that has just kept its first clean sheet.
