Frosinone vs Torino – Free Serie A Prediction

Frosinone vs Torino: the best start by a promoted side since Juventus in 2007 Serie A

Frosinone beat Lecce 5-1 on Thursday night and matched the best start to a Serie A season by a newly promoted club, level with Juventus in 2007. They’ve taken 17 points from nine games and sit sixth, one behind AC Milan.

Torino come to the Stadio Benito Stirpe on Sunday 1 November, kick-off 14:00 UK time, four points worse off on 13. They lost 3-1 at home to Como on Tuesday after leading through Ché Adams.

Antonio Raimondo scored Frosinone’s third against Lecce, his eighth league goal of the season, which puts him level with Monza’s Gustavo Varela at the top of the scoring chart. Daniel Birligea added two more in the last 20 minutes, the second deep in stoppage time.

Massimiliano Alvini’s side average 2.8 goals a game at home and concede 1.2. Torino average 1.8 scored and 1.0 conceded on the road.

The head-to-head is thin and dated. Since January 2016 the clubs have met six times: three Torino wins, one for Frosinone and two draws, and the last two meetings both finished 0-0.

Frosinone’s two defeats this season came against Juventus, 1-0 at home on the opening weekend, and Napoli, 3-0 away. I don’t put Torino in that bracket.

Frosinone: 22 goals in nine games, and Raimondo isn’t the only source Frosinone

Frosinone had 60% of the ball against Lecce and 26 shots, nine of them on target. Matteo Cichella opened the scoring on 25 minutes from Farès Ghedjemis’s pass, and Giacomo Calò converted a penalty in first-half stoppage time.

Giorgi Kvernadze set up two of the goals and has five of his own this season. Calò has four. With Raimondo on eight, Alvini has three players already on four or more.

The previous weekend they drew 4-4 at Atalanta. Before that came a 4-2 home win over Sassuolo, and earlier at the Stirpe they beat Como 2-0, the same Como side that won in Turin on Tuesday.

Florian Grillitsch missed the Lecce game with a muscular problem. Wladimiro Falcone made the saves that kept Lecce to one goal, Joel Monteiro’s on 82 minutes.

The schedule works against the hosts. Frosinone played on Thursday and Torino on Tuesday, so Alvini’s side get two fewer days of rest before Sunday.

Torino: 28% of the ball against Como and three goals conceded after the 80th minute Torino

Torino led Como through Adams on 24 minutes and lost 3-1. Jacobo Ramón equalised on 81 minutes, Nico Paz scored at 87 and Martin Baturina added the third two minutes into stoppage time.

The match numbers were lopsided. Como had 72% possession and completed 625 passes to Torino’s 204, and the expected goals finished 2.13 to 0.96.

Before Tuesday, Torino had won three in a row: 2-1 at Udinese, 3-0 at Parma and 3-2 at home to Monza. Two of those wins came away from home.

Adams leads the club with four league goals. Giovanni Simeone has three and came off the bench against Como for Sandro Kulenovic, who has two.

Torino sit ninth with four wins, one draw and four defeats. They’ve scored 14 and conceded 14.

Probable lineup Frosinone: Not announced at time of publication
Probable lineup Torino: Perri; Patterson, Ismajli, Comuzzo; Oristanio, Gineitis, Vlasic, Ilkhan, Coco; Adams, Kulenovic

Free Serie A Prediction: Frosinone vs Torino

Our prediction: Frosinone to win

Frosinone score 2.8 a game at home, and Torino have just let in three goals in the final ten minutes of a home game. The Stirpe has already seen Como beaten 2-0 and Sassuolo 4-2, and the only side to win there this season was Juventus.

The Thursday fixture is the honest worry, and Torino’s three straight wins before Como, two of them away, mean they won’t roll over. That’s enough to keep me off a handicap.

The home win is available between 2.00 and 2.20. I’d take Frosinone at 2.10.

About our free predictions

  • What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal, and the script changes completely.
  • Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
  • The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses: that rarely ends well.
  • A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation: that’s what they’re there for.
  • Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
  • Essential reminder: gambling is prohibited for minors and must comply with the laws of your country. Need help? Visit begambleaware.org.

No commitment from us

Information changes

A prediction is always based on what we know at the time of writing. But between publication and kick-off, a lineup can change, a player picks up an injury, the weather turns, and the analysis can quickly be outdated. We cannot be held responsible for that.
