The third qualifying round hands out tickets for the next stage of the European campaign. The loser drops into the Europa League, a consolation Fenerbahce want no part of.

Fenerbahce arrive in Graz two goals ahead and looking calm. The Turkish side can manage the lead and still carry enough bite to finish the job.
The strength of this team is obvious: the attacking unit. Talisca, Greenwood, Kerem Akturkoglu and Asensio make up a front line that can punish the smallest mistake.
Up top, Fenerbahce can also lean on Vedat Muriqi’s physical presence to pin back defences. It gives them a useful reference point when they need to take the pace out of the game.
In midfield, N’Golo Kante brings a rare level of balance at this stage. Winning the ball, breaking up transitions, protecting the lead: the Frenchman can do it all.

The only real danger is complacency. A slow start in a lively stadium could breathe life into an Austrian side already up against it.

Sturm Graz go into the return leg with a mountain to climb. Two goals to make up against a side of this level is about as tough as it gets.
In the first leg, the Austrians offered very little going forward and were outclassed by the Turkish stars. They need a completely different performance if they are to have any hope.
Even so, the Austrian champions do have one real weapon: their crowd and their collective strength at home. European nights like this often lift the underdogs.
To turn this tie around, Sturm have to score early and put Fenerbahce under pressure from the off. Sitting back would be the quickest way to suffer.
The risk is obvious: push too hard and leave gaps for the Turkish counterattack. Concede a third and the tie is done.
Defensive discipline matters just as much as attacking ambition. Without balance, a comeback turns into a hammering in no time.
Sturm will throw everything at it, driven by the chance to give Graz one last big night. But the Turkish wall looks very hard to break down.
