Stoke City vs Norwich City: bottom club faces a side back in business 
Stoke City sit bottom of the Championship with zero points after three rounds. Norwich City arrive at the bet365 Stadium in 16th, but buoyed by their first win of the season.
Kick-off is set for 8:00pm local time on Tuesday in Staffordshire. Both clubs are playing their fourth league match.
Three defeats from three and nine goals conceded: the Potters have been the division’s worst side so far. Their goal difference of minus six leaves them behind Preston North End, the only other club still on zero points.
The irony is that the club spent the summer recruiting heavily to chase promotion. Mark Robins has inherited a heavily reshaped squad that still looks short on understanding.
Norwich come in off a 4-1 win over Burnley at Carrow Road, with Mo Toure and Andre Brooks both scoring twice. That result ended back-to-back losses against West Bromwich Albion and Millwall.
This fixture has long tilted Norwich’s way. Stoke have beaten Norwich only once in the last 11 meetings in all competitions.
The current balance of power is clear enough, but both defences are leaving holes everywhere. That’s where the best bet of the night lies.

Stoke have lost their first 3 Championship matches. Last season already ended with them in 17th, only eight points clear of the drop zone.
The club answered with a huge summer rebuild, bringing in Milan Smit, Djibril Soumare, Josh Griffiths, Ethan Galbraith, Svante Ingelsson, Luke Graham, George Morrison, Jack Newall, George Hirst and Ben Johnson. That flood of new faces goes a long way to explaining the lack of rhythm.
The season opened with a 2-1 loss to Swansea City, before a 3-1 defeat at Southampton. On Saturday, Wolverhampton Wanderers won 4-1 at the bet365 Stadium.
Sam Gallagher had given Stoke an early lead with a fine finish. But a Rodrigo Gomes double, followed by goals from Raul Jimenez and Jordan James, turned it around.
Mark Robins said his side had “really started well” before undoing themselves, and he was left frustrated that Stoke had once again been the architects of their own downfall. That’s a pretty fair admission of how fragile this group looks mentally.
Aaron Cresswell, Junior Tchamadeu, Ben Gibson, Svante Ingelsson, Lamine Cisse and Ato Ampah are expected to miss out. Six absentees in an already unsettled squad is a lot for a team still trying to find its feet.
George Hirst should again lead the line, still chasing his first goal in a Potters shirt. Sam Gallagher and Sorba Thomas are likely to support him from the flanks.
Stoke have taken no points from their three league outings since August. No side in the division has done worse, apart from Preston North End.

Norwich City have found some momentum against Burnley 
Norwich head into this trip with three points on the board and a bit of belief back in the tank. Their 4-1 hammering of Burnley on Saturday pulled a difficult start to the season back into shape.
Mo Toure and Andre Brooks both hit doubles in the Carrow Road rout. Philippe Clement called it a “step forward” and talked up Brooks’ “huge potential”.
That win came after two straight defeats, a 2-1 reverse against West Bromwich Albion and a 3-0 loss to Millwall. There is still plenty of defensive work to do.
Six goals conceded in three league games is level with Portsmouth and one worse than Blackburn Rovers. Norwich have yet to keep a clean sheet in the league this season.
Across all competitions, Norwich have won three of their last five games. That form is much better than their 16th-place position suggests.
Clement is unlikely to change a side that just scored four. Toure and Brooks should again lead the line, with Oscar Schwartau and Anthony Musaba backing them up.
Captain Kenny McLean will anchor midfield alongside vice-captain Pelle Mattsson. Against a defence that has folded nine times in three matches, Norwich should get chances.
Norwich have won three of their last five matches in all competitions. That kind of consistency stands in sharp contrast to Stoke’s current slide.

Stoke have found the net in each of their three league defeats, including Saturday’s loss to Wolverhampton through Sam Gallagher. Scoring hasn’t been the issue. Keeping teams out has, with nine conceded in three games.
Norwich, for their part, have not kept a clean sheet in the league and have shipped six goals over the same stretch. They also arrive with an attack buzzing after Toure and Brooks both struck twice.
