A run ends in Dallas
Seattle’s nine-match unbeaten run is over. FC Dallas beat the Sounders 1-0 on Wednesday and clinched a playoff spot in the process. Saturday brings a chance to answer at home against CF Montreal.
The Sounders sit at 11-10-8 with 41 points. The season has swung hard. They opened 7-1-3, lost eight straight, drew five in a row and then won four before the Dallas setback.
Two familiar faces are back. Jordan Morris and captain Cristian Roldan have returned from injury. Forward Dejan Joveljic, who arrived from Sporting Kansas City, already has four goals in six matches for Seattle.

Montreal arrive in freefall
CF Montreal are 6-17-6 with 24 points. They have lost two in a row and seven of their last eight, the latest a 3-0 home defeat to Atlanta United on Wednesday. Montreal’s Brandan Craig did not soften it afterward: “Today was quite frankly embarrassing.”
Prince Owusu is the one steady source of goals, leading the team with 15 this season.
What Seattle took from Dallas
Albert Rusnak felt the scoreline lied. “We created enough chances to win the game,” he said. Roldan pointed to the bigger picture. “It means that we played better than we did a month ago when we would lose road games.”
That is the case for Seattle on Saturday. Joveljic is scoring, Morris and Roldan are available, and the visitors have little to lean on beyond Owusu.
