Slovakia vs Moldova: 25 goals conceded between them in five matches, the stat that sets the tone in Presov
Slovakia have shipped 13 goals in their last five games, Moldova 12. Twenty-five in all, which works out at an average of 2.5 goals conceded per side per match.
Neither team has managed more than one clean sheet in that spell. Shared fragility at the back is the most obvious angle heading into kick-off.
The game is at Futbal Tatran Arena in Presov, with a 20:45 start in Paris. It opens Group C3 for both sides.
That section also includes Kazakhstan, the Faroe Islands and Moldova. The other two teams meet on the same Saturday, with Kazakhstan away in Torshavn later in the afternoon.
Slovakia drop down from League B and come in as the strongest favourites on the card. The bookmakers have them miles clear, to the point where the straight win price is barely worth a look.
Moldova, meanwhile, have not won in five and finished the spring without a victory. They are on the back of two draws, against Bulgaria and Armenia in June.
The league phase ends on 17 November 2026, with promotion to League B for the group winner and relegation to League D for the bottom side. Slovakia are clearly targeting an immediate return to the higher tier.
Slovakia: three games unbeaten, but 13 goals conceded in five outings
Slovakia are three unbeaten, with two wins and a draw. A 2-0 win over Romania on 31 March, a 2-1 victory against Malta on 1 June, then a 2-2 draw with Montenegro on the 5th.
That run followed two heavy defeats that explain the defensive numbers over the period. A 6-0 loss in Germany in November 2025, then a 4-3 home defeat to Kosovo in World Cup qualifying.
That 4-3 in Bratislava is the most revealing result in the sequence. Three goals scored still weren’t enough, because Slovakia’s back line coughed up four in one night.
Going forward, the output has barely changed at all. They have scored two goals in each of their last three games, and three against Kosovo, making it nine in their last four.
That sort of consistency is Slovakia’s biggest plus at home. They have scored at least twice in each of their last four matches.
Their only clean sheet in that run came in the 2-0 win over Romania nearly six months ago. Since then, Malta and Montenegro have both found a way through.
Try it for $0.99.
Moldova: no win in five, and they have conceded in every game
Moldova have not won any of their last five matches. Three defeats, then two draws in June.
Their defence has been breached in every one of those five games. They have conceded 12 in total, including four in the 16 November 2025 defeat in Israel.
Spring only confirmed how brittle they are. A 2-0 loss to Lithuania at the end of March, then a 3-2 defeat to Cyprus four days later.
The two June games offer a more useful angle. A 2-2 draw with Bulgaria on the 5th, then a 1-1 draw with Armenia on the 9th, two results dragged out against sides of a similar level.
Their attacking return is still limited, but it is not empty: six goals in five games, with only one outing without a score. That is more than several teams at this level can say.
The trip to Presov still stacks the deck against them. Moldova face the best-ranked team in the group, away from home, and without a win since October.

Football Prediction Slovakia vs Moldova
Our prediction: over 2.5 goals
The price on a straight Slovakia win is too short to bother with. The goals market offers far better value on this fixture.
The first case for it comes from Slovakia’s attack. They have scored at least twice in each of their last four games, and three against Kosovo.
The second comes from the back lines of both teams. Moldova have conceded in all five of their last matches, Slovakia in four of theirs: over 2.5 goals looks the play in Presov.
in your pocket.

First, a word on our free predictions
- What we publish on mathodds is analysis, nothing more. We share an opinion, a read on the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport is what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a goal out of nowhere… and the script changes completely.
- Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when something looks obvious, it never really is. And yes, that means you can lose. In fact, at some point, you will.
- The best approach is to stay sensible. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Do not touch money you need to live. And above all: do not chase losses. It rarely ends well.
- A bet should stay a game, not a job or a source of income. If you feel it is taking too much space in your day, if it is winding you up or putting you under pressure, take a break. And if needed, speak to a specialist service. That is what it is there for.
- In the end, the responsibility is yours. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, even with the best analysis in the world.
- Essential reminder: betting is illegal for minors and must comply with the law in your country. Gambling can go wrong fast (money lost, family tension, addiction). Need Help? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. In the UK? Visit https://www.gambleaware.org/https://www.gambleaware.org/.
No commitment from us
Our predictions are not contracts. They have no legal force. Put simply: you cannot use them to claim anything if a bet loses.
Information that can change
A prediction is always based on what is known when it is written. But by the time the match comes around, a team sheet changes, a player gets injured, the weather turns… and the analysis can be out of date in a hurry. We cannot be held responsible for that.
Your role
