Chicago ends its home season in style
Sydney Taylor and Gabriela Jaquez each dropped 18 as Chicago closed its home slate the right way, beating the visiting Toronto Tempo 97-85. Kamilla Cardoso added 17, Jacy Sheldon chipped in 12 off the bench, and Courtney Vandersloot had 10. Elizabeth Williams rounded things out with six points and 11 boards.
The win snapped a five-game losing streak for a Sky side that closes the regular season at 16-27. Toronto, meanwhile, has now lost seven straight and finishes the year at 11-32.

A third quarter that made the difference
The game turned in the third quarter. Chicago put up a 28-11 burst to open up a 17-point lead heading into the final period. A 16-0 run, fuelled by Toronto’s defensive lapses, pushed the home side out to a 14-point cushion. Sheldon’s buzzer-beating basket wrapped up the quarter at 72-55.
Isabelle Harrison was the one bright spot for the Tempo. She finished with 21 points, 17 of them in the opening quarter, and grabbed 13 rebounds. Laura Juskaite added 20 points. Together, they tried to drag their side back into it late on, cutting the gap to 12 with six minutes left, but Chicago never let them close any further.
A season-long rivalry tilts Toronto’s way
Even in defeat, the Tempo still hold the edge in the season series, winning it 2-1. The opening stretch of this one was among the most tightly fought of the year between the two sides: 19 lead changes and five ties before the break, with the teams deadlocked 44-44 at halftime. Chicago had the final word, and it came at the best possible time.
