A late homer proves the difference
Walker Jenkins belts a go-ahead home run in the top of the seventh. The Minnesota Twins take a 3-2 lead over the San Francisco Giants. The win levels the series between the two teams.
Starter Taj Bradley works six strong innings. He allows just one run on a squeeze bunt from Drew Cavanaugh early in the game. Bradley walks three and strikes out six. Four relievers finish the job behind him in a six-hit game.

Keaschall shines on both sides of the ball
Luke Keaschall stands out in both offence and defence. He drives in the go-ahead run with a triple on a one-out play that brings home Ryan Kreidler. Brooks Lee then adds a single to give the Twins the lead for good.
In the field, Keaschall makes two superb diving stops in right. The first shuts down a Giants threat in the seventh with runners on first and second. The second, in the eighth, stops San Francisco from getting back into it.
A shaky finish before the save is sealed
Jeff Hoffman takes the mound for the ninth and makes life awkward for his own side. He walks Brett Harris and hits Andrew Knizner to start the inning. A sacrifice bunt from Christian Koss moves the runners up, then Osleivis Basabe draws a walk to load the bases.
On a fielder’s choice from Jonah Cox, San Francisco scores a run on a force at third. Hoffman then shuts the door by striking out Victor Bericoto on a full count. It’s his sixth save of the season. Minnesota sits at 74 wins and 84 defeats, while San Francisco drops to 65 wins and 93 defeats.
