A Swedish coach for Sinner’s next chapter
Jannik Sinner may have found his next coach. The Times reports that the Italian has settled on Magnus Norman to take over from Darren Cahill once the season ends, a story picked up in Sky Sports’ Wednesday newspaper review.
Nothing is official. Neither Sinner’s camp nor Norman has confirmed a deal, so the move stays in the category of strong reporting until someone puts a name on a press release.

The man behind Wawrinka’s three majors
The timing has a nice twist. Stan Wawrinka played his farewell on Tuesday in Basel, and Norman is the coach who built most of the Swiss player’s legend. Under him, Wawrinka won the 2014 Australian Open, the 2015 French Open and the 2016 US Open.
Before that, Norman guided fellow Swede Robin Soderling to back-to-back French Open finals in 2009 and 2010. As a player he reached the Roland Garros final himself in 2000, losing to Gustavo Kuerten.
Big shoes to fill
Cahill is not an easy act to follow. The Australian has worked with Lleyton Hewitt, Andre Agassi and Simona Halep, and he has been central to Sinner’s rise to the top of the game.
Norman’s record suggests a coach who can push an established player over one more threshold. Whether Sinner’s team confirms the switch before the off-season is the open question.
