Sevilla sit fifth on 13 points after six rounds. Their record is four wins, one draw and one defeat.
That loss came at home, 1-3 against Atletico Madrid on 29 August. It is the only time this season the Pizjuan has seen its side leave empty-handed.
The picture has changed fast for the Andalusian club, who finished 13th last season with the fourth-worst home record in the division. Thirteen points from six games is already a clear reset.
The last five league meetings between these two clubs have produced 26 goals, an average of 5.2 a game. Both teams have scored in every one of them.
Both sides played in the league on Tuesday 16 September. Seville nicked a 1-0 win at Deportivo La Coruna thanks to Amatucci (77′) — their third away win of the season. Barcelona blew away Racing de Santander 7-2, with Raphinha scoring four.
Barcelona are also still unbeaten in all competitions since the restart, Champions League included. The 5-1 win over Feyenoord kept the European run rolling.
Sevilla, for their part, have not conceded more than three goals in a game this season. At the Pizjuan, they have shipped three only once, against Atletico.

That attacking rhythm comes from an unusual spread of scorers. Sevilla’s recent goals in all competitions have been shared around, with a different player finding the net each time — a sign of a balanced side rather than one leaning on a single striker.
The fixtures already banked give real weight to their current position. Sevilla went to San Mames in August and won 3-1, a result no other mid-table side has managed.
The next trip to Espanyol ended 1-1 at the start of September, and the 1-0 win at Deportivo on 16 September extended their away run to three wins in four. Luis Garcia has built this start on tight games, not big statements.
Their last home outing backed that up: 1-0 against Valencia on 11 September, with a single goal enough for all three points. Sevilla have conceded more than once only one time this season.
Rubin Vargas misses out through injury and there are no suspensions to add to Luis Garcia’s problems. The squad is otherwise close to full strength.
Saturday’s challenge is a different one. The only top-five opponent they have faced so far, Atletico, was the team that finally broke Sevilla’s home resistance.

Away from home, this side does not blink. The Catalans won 0-5 at Elche and 0-5 at Valencia without conceding. Hosting Racing de Santander on 16 September turned into a rout: 7-2, with four from Raphinha and goals from Cancelo, Gabriel Jesus and Yamal.
Hansi Flick has got the front line humming without a recognised centre-forward. Raphinha is playing as a false nine and already has 8 goals and 3 assists in La Liga after six games.
Anthony Gordon, signed in the 2026 summer window, has settled quickly on the left and is already part of the rotation. Lamine Yamal keeps doing damage on the other flank.
There are two absentees, Roony Bardghji and Frenkie de Jong. So far, the squad depth has covered the gaps without any real drop-off.
One number does at least inject a bit of caution into the Catalan buzz. The 6 goals conceded have come in several games where opponents have chosen to step forward rather than sit back — exactly the sort of approach Seville can bring at home.
The trip to Levante on 13 September was the least polished outing of the run, with two goals conceded against the 13th-placed side. The Racing game produced the same defensive return — 2 conceded — despite the 7 scored.
