Cagliari strike first in Rome
Lazio had the ball and Cagliari had the lead. That was the story of the opening half at the Stadio Olimpico, where Fabio Pisacane’s side went in front on 20 minutes through M’Bala Nzola, who found the net on one of the visitors’ few forays forward.
Gennaro Gattuso’s team answered quickly. Isaksen levelled in the 36th minute, and the half ended 1-1 with Lazio dominant in possession but unable to turn that control into a second goal.

A substitute settles it
The second period began with changes on both sides. Lazio lost captain Zaccagni to injury in the 55th minute, and Pinamonti came on in his place. It proved the pivotal switch of the afternoon. With seven minutes left on the clock, Pinamonti scored to make it 2-1, and he was booked a minute later.
Cagliari had already been warned. Obert collected a yellow card on 76 minutes and was shown a red in the first minute of stoppage time, which left the visitors a man down at the death. Deiola also went off injured late on.
The numbers behind a narrow win
The final statistics tell you how one-sided the match felt. Lazio completed 746 passes to Cagliari’s 263 and had 74% of the ball, yet only four shots on target to the visitors’ three. Cagliari committed 18 fouls to Lazio’s seven. This was matchday ten in Serie A, and Lazio needed a second-half replacement to find the winner rather than a flowing display from the starters.
