Manly Sea Eagles vs North Queensland Cowboys: Manly look for a response
Round 19 in the NRL wraps up at 4 Pines Park with a clash that carries plenty of weight.
The Sea Eagles host North Queensland knowing every point matters in the race to stay inside the finals spots.
Manly are still smarting after a flat one against the Eels, while the Cowboys turn up fresh from a week off and with the memory of a statement win over Penrith still warm.
On Sunday afternoon in Australia, both sides know a slip-up now could hurt badly this deep into the season.
The Sea Eagles want to bounce back in front of their own fans
Manly ran into a well-drilled Eels side last week and did it without their first-choice half Luke Brooks, who was sidelined through injury. His absence was felt in the way the team moved the ball and in their ability to settle into any real rhythm.
The return of Haumole Olakau’atu and Tolutau Koula changes the picture sharply for this one. With those two on the field, Manly have one of the best records in the competition against the handicap.
At the back, Tom Trbojevic remains the main attacking threat, capable of turning a match on one burst. Jason Saab brings a constant edge on the wing too, with tries coming at a steady clip throughout the squad.
North Queensland arrive fresh and with something to prove
The Cowboys have used a week without a game to top up after their benchmark win over the Panthers.
That result was a reminder that North Queensland can lift when they fancy it and match anybody on their day. Scott Drinkwater leads that threat from the back, offering support play, organisation and a proper kicking game.
Up front, Reuben Cotter and Jason Taumalolo give the pack some real muscle through the middle. The issue for the Cowboys is still consistency, because they keep mixing strong performances with long spells where they simply go missing.
Heading to 4 Pines Park, where the Sea Eagles have recently had the upper hand in this fixture, only makes the assignment tougher.

NRL Prediction Manly Sea Eagles vs North Queensland Cowboys
Manly Sea Eagles -4,5
The balance of power points toward the Sea Eagles, who are expected to be favourites and are well set at home.
Recent meetings back that up, with a 38-6 win in Townsville this season and a 42-12 result the last time they hosted the Cowboys.
The return of Olakau’atu and Koula gives the side back its strongest look, which makes backing a margin rather than just the win the better angle.
The Cowboys have enough to keep things close, but their inconsistency and the travel make a full upset a tall order over 80 minutes.
in your pocket.

First, a quick word on our predictions
- What we publish on mathodds is analysis, nothing more. It is a view, a read on the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport is what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a goal from nowhere… and the script changes completely.
- Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when something looks “certain”, it never really is. And yes, that means you can lose. In fact, at some point, you will.
- The best approach is to stay sensible. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Do not touch money you need for everyday life. And above all: do not chase losses, because that rarely ends well.
- A bet should stay a game, not a job or a source of income. If you feel it is taking up too much space in your life, if it is irritating you or putting you under pressure, take a break. And if needed, speak to a specialist support organisation. That is what they are there for.
- In the end, responsibility is yours. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and never goes away, even with the best analysis in the world.
- Essential reminder: betting is banned for minors and must follow the law in your country. Gambling can spiral fast (money problems, family tension, addiction). Need Help? Call 1-800-GAMBLER. In the UK? Visit https://www.gambleaware.org/https://www.gambleaware.org/.
No commitment from us
Our predictions are not a contract. They carry no legal weight. In plain English: you cannot use them to claim anything if a bet loses.
Information changes
A prediction is always based on what we know at the time of writing. But in the meantime, a team sheet changes (like the Sea Eagles’ one for example), a player gets hurt, the weather turns… and the analysis can quickly be out of date. We cannot be held responsible for that.
Your role
Before you bet, check that betting is legal where you are. If it is not, that is your responsibility, not ours.
Responsible gambling first
We cannot say it enough: gamble in moderation. If you struggle to keep control, do not wait to get help. We cannot be responsible for compulsive or excessive use of the information published on the site.
Legal age
mathodds content is for adults only. By browsing here, you confirm that you are old enough under the law to place a bet.
