PSG-Lyon pushed back to Monday, October 26
The league had to give way. With the Paris police prefecture banning Paris Saint-Germain vs Olympique Lyonnais, scheduled for Sunday, October 25 at 8:45pm, the LFP decided, in agreement with broadcaster Ligue 1+, to move the Matchday 8 blockbuster to Monday, October 26 at 8:30pm. It will be shown live on Ligue 1+.
PSG, second and level on 14 points with leaders Lyon, will host the table-topper at the Parc des Princes. Only days ago, the league had refused to move the game.

A title clash alongside the Ballon d’Or
The new slot coincides with the Ballon d’Or ceremony, which kicks off at 7:30pm in London. Several PSG players are in the running, including Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Ousmane Dembélé and Fabian Ruiz. The Parisians already played a big away game at Marseille during last year’s ceremony, which crowned Dembélé, because of bad weather.
Four fixtures rescheduled, maybe more
A large-scale demonstration is planned for Saturday, October 24, the “Act II” of the social movement, a week after protests marked by violence. Several police prefectures asked the LFP to rework the weekend schedule.
PSG-Lyon is the fourth rescheduled game across Ligue 1 and Ligue 2. Toulouse-Troyes moves from Saturday to Sunday, Montpellier-Red Star goes to Monday, and Saint-Étienne-Nantes kicks off at 8:45pm instead of 8:00pm on October 24.
It may not be over: Marseille vs Le Havre (Sunday, 5:15pm) could shift to Sunday night, as that slot is now free. In Paris, the NFL also plays its first-ever game in France on Sunday at 2:30pm at the Stade de France, New Orleans vs Pittsburgh, which is already stretching police resources.
