PEC Zwolle vs Feyenoord: 13 straight defeats in this fixture 
PEC Zwolle have lost their last 13 meetings with Feyenoord. In eight of those games, the Zwolle side did not even manage a goal.
That record fits the sixth round of the Eredivisie neatly. PEC’s last win against the Rotterdam club came in a 3-1 victory back in 2019.
Kick-off is set for Sunday 13 September at 16:45 at MAC3PARK Stadion. Henry van der Vegt opens the day against the opponent that gives him the least joy.
Feyenoord sit third and have a clear chance to close in. AZ Alkmaar dropped points on Friday night, so the Rotterdam side can cut the gap to the leaders to two points with a win.
The week, though, calls for caution. Feyenoord came back from Barcelona with a 5-1 hiding in their Champions League league-stage opener.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst was up against a club he once represented as a player. Raphinha struck twice, Lamine Yamal and Gabriel Jesus added the rest, and Sem Steijn grabbed a consolation.
PEC Zwolle will, of course, hope to take advantage of that European hangover. The issue is their own start to the season, with three defeats in five league games.
Their only win so far is a 2-0 success at Heerenveen. It was their third clean sheet of 2026 in all competitions, which tells you plenty about their level of solidity.
Feyenoord, by contrast, have built their early season away from Rotterdam. All three of their league wins have come on the road, at Sparta, Cambuur and NEC Nijmegen.
An average of three goals per game in those away matches sets the tone. PEC Zwolle need a plan nobody has managed to use properly for seven years.

PEC Zwolle have lost three of their five Eredivisie matches. Defeats against Ajax (0-2), at Twente (1-3) and against NEC (1-3) have weighed heavily on their opening weeks.
Their only win came at Heerenveen, a 2-0 result. That game is also the only one in which the Zwolle defence has held firm.
Last week, the Blauwvingers dragged themselves to a 2-2 draw on the Sparta Rotterdam pitch. It at least saved a bit of face, but the back line still gave up two goals.
Koen Kostons has been the only real bright spot up front. The striker has scored in three straight matches, against Heerenveen, NEC and Sparta.
That run has ended a miserable drought. Kostons had gone nine Eredivisie games without a goal before sparking back into life.
Dylan Mbayo has added a clear second threat. The Belgian laid on two assists at Heerenveen and another against Sparta last weekend.
His season began badly, though, with an own goal against Twente. He is now arguably PEC’s next-best attacking option.
The injury list is making Van der Vegt’s job harder. Younes Namli, Filip Krastev, who is dealing with an Achilles problem, and Jan Burger are all expected to miss Sunday.
The historical picture makes it even worse for Zwolle. None of their current players have ever beaten Feyenoord in this shirt.

Feyenoord, a winning machine on the road 
Feyenoord have won all three of their away league matches. Sparta (1-0), Cambuur (5-2) and NEC (3-1) have all been beaten.
Those three trips have produced an average of three goals per game for the Rotterdam side. At home, though, Van Bronckhorst’s team have only managed two draws, against Go Ahead Eagles and ADO Den Haag.
That split suits a trip to Zwolle just fine. The club are third and only one point ahead of Excelsior, Twente and Fortuna Sittard.
Gjivai Zechiel has led the Rotterdam attack with four goals and three assists since the start of the season. No one else in the squad has been involved at that level.
Luciano Valente is close behind with three goals, including the latest in the 3-1 win at Nijmegen. The pair are covering for an attack that was reshaped in the summer.
Ayase Ueda’s move to Lille before the transfer deadline changed the picture. Nacho Ferri now gets the nod up top and has to prove himself in Overijssel.
The absentee list is still a long one for Van Bronckhorst. Bart Nieuwkoop, Gijs Smal, who has an ankle issue, Jakub Moder and Jordan Bos, both carrying knee complaints, and Thomas Beelen, out with a broken leg, are all missing.
Reiss Nelson is also unlikely to be involved on Sunday. The winger played only 73 minutes in Arsenal’s pre-season before moving to Rotterdam.
The 5-1 loss at Camp Nou remains the only real blemish on the season. It does not change their league form, where Feyenoord have yet to lose since the restart.
