Forty-eight hours after limping off, she led everyone in scoring
Olivia Miles left Wednesday’s win at Golden State early with a sore left ankle. Two nights later she put up 24 points and seven assists in Washington, and the Minnesota Lynx walked out of the capital with a 94-84 win and a sixth straight victory.
The point guard went 10-for-22 from the floor. Her closing sequence came with 2:21 to play: turnover, drive, layup, 86-80. Kayla McBride knocked down a three on the next trip. Nine up with 1:44 left, and Washington was finished.

31-7, and Napheesa Collier was in street clothes
Sixteen wins in seventeen games. No roster in the league is playing better right now.
Collier did not suit up. Minnesota announced Friday she was resting. The forward missed the first 27 games of the season after two ankle surgeries and has averaged 19 points since coming back on July 22. Her teammates managed.
Natasha Howard finished with 21 points, seven boards and five assists. Courtney Williams put up 13 and eight. The Lynx shot 37-of-70, 52.9%, and hit 11 threes on 27 attempts. That efficiency covered a 36-26 rebounding deficit that would have buried most teams.
The Mystics matched them for three quarters
Washington (21-15) did not roll over. Every starter reached double figures. Kiki Iriafen had 19 points and 13 rebounds, her 16th double-double of the year. Shakira Austin went for 17, eight and six. Michaela Onyenwere added 14.
A Cotie McMahon three put the Mystics up 26-25 after one. They got back within 64-63 in the third before Williams answered with a triple and two free throws inside the last 75 seconds. Minnesota led 75-67 heading to the fourth, and Washington’s two-game run was over.
