Nice vs Strasbourg – Free Football Prediction – 11/10/2026

Nice vs Strasbourg: the league’s quietest attack against a side with goals all over the pitch Ligue 1

Three goals in five Ligue 1 games. That’s Nice’s entire output so far this season, and no team in the division has scored fewer. It’s the number that frames Sunday’s meeting with Strasbourg at the Allianz Riviera, kick-off 15:00 Paris time on matchday six.

The table backs it up. Nice sit 14th on five points, just one clear of the play-off spot, and they had to wait until the fifth round to win a game at all. Strasbourg are 8th on seven points and arrive with a much broader spread of scorers, despite a long injury list of their own.

Here’s the key thing about this fixture: it isn’t a mismatch on paper. Across 28 previous meetings the record is almost perfectly split, with 10 Nice wins, 10 draws and eight for Strasbourg. Recent history leans the other way, though. Strasbourg won 3-1 when the sides last met in the league in April.

So what changes after a two-week international break? Not much for Nice’s front line, which is the worry. Strasbourg lost their last game before the break, 2-1 at Paris FC, but they’d been playing well enough in the weeks before that to hold Monaco, the league leaders, to a 1-1 draw.

Both sides have reasons to feel nervous. Strasbourg have rather more reasons to feel confident. Jérémie Pignard takes charge of a game that should tell us whether Nice’s first win was the start of something or simply a break in the clouds.

Nice: one win, three goals and a defence held together by a 17-year-old Nice

Lille came to the Allianz Riviera on matchday five and left beaten 2-1. It was Nice’s first league win of the season, and you could feel the relief in it. Before that, home games against Lorient (0-0) and Le Mans (1-1) had produced two points and one goal.

The attacking numbers make for uncomfortable reading. Amoura and Wahi have one goal each, and they’re the only forwards who’ve scored. That’s not a team creating chances and missing them. It’s a team struggling to create them at all.

The injury list doesn’t help. Abergel, the midfield organiser, is out with a cruciate ligament injury, and centre-backs Mendy and Bombito are long-term absentees too. Clauss has a thigh problem and Diop has been unwell this week, so two names in the probable starting XI are far from certain.

There’s one bright spot. Mandza, a 17-year-old centre-back, has started every league game and looks like he belongs. Credit where it’s due: he’s been the surprise of Nice’s season so far.

Sanson, back from injury, could make his first squad of the season, which would give the midfield a bit more craft. It won’t fix the problem up front. Nice need goals from somewhere, and right now there’s no obvious place to find them.

Strasbourg: seven points, a long injury list and new signings already carrying the load Strasbourg

Seven points from five games tells you Strasbourg have been decent rather than dazzling. Two wins, a draw and two defeats under Hugo Oliveira, who’s in his first season on the bench. But look at the shape of it and there’s more to like.

Before the 2-1 loss at Paris FC, they’d gone three games unbeaten. They beat Lens 2-1, then won 6-2 away at Troyes, then held Monaco to a 1-1 draw. That’s a side that can score, and score in bunches.

The absences are real, though. Panichelli, their Argentine striker, won’t play again until 2027. Godo is back running but isn’t ready, and Essugo and Mara are also injured. Captain Doukouré, the centre-back, is a doubt after missing the international get-together.

What’s kept them going is the summer recruitment. Sousa has settled in midfield straight away, Reyna has a goal and Ortega has a goal and an assist. Reyna got back late from international duty, so he may not start.

Even without their first-choice striker, Strasbourg have more routes to goal than Nice. That’s the gap in this fixture. Not a huge one, but a clear one.

Probable lineup Nice: Diouf; Abdelmonem, Ndayishimiye, Mandza; Clauss, Coulibaly, Witsel, Nkounkou; Hein, Wahi, Diop (Clauss and Diop doubtful)
Probable lineup Strasbourg: Jörgensen; Antwi, Mitchell, Högsberg, Oso; Sousa, El Mourabet, Diop; Yassine, Ortega, Nanasi

Our prediction: Strasbourg win or draw (double chance) @ 1.50

Nice have scored three goals in five games, and two of the players expected to start for them are struggling for fitness. Asking them to beat a side with Strasbourg’s spread of scorers is asking a lot, even at home.

Strasbourg have only lost to Paris FC in their last four league games, and they’ve already taken a point off Monaco. Their injury list is long, but the new signings have filled the gaps well enough so far.

We don’t want to rule out a draw, because Nice’s home games have been tight and low-scoring. That’s exactly why the double chance makes sense here: Strasbourg avoid defeat, and we cover the stalemate too.

About our free predictions

  • What we publish on MathOdds are analyses, nothing more. We share a view, a reading of the moment, but never a guarantee. Sport remains what it is: unpredictable. A red card, an injury, a last-minute goal, and the script changes completely.
  • Let’s be clear: there is no such thing as a risk-free bet. Even when it looks “obvious”, nothing ever is. And yes, that means you can lose. It’s even inevitable at some point.
  • The smartest approach is to stay reasonable. Bet small, set a budget and stick to it. Never use money you need to live on. And above all: don’t chase your losses, that rarely ends well.
  • A bet should remain a game, not a job or a source of income. If it starts taking up too much space in your daily life, causes stress or frustration, take a break. And if needed, talk to a support organisation: that’s what they’re there for.
  • Ultimately, responsibility lies with you. Reading our content means accepting that risk exists and will never disappear, no matter how good the analysis.
  • Essential reminder: gambling is prohibited for minors and must comply with the laws of your country. Need help? Visit begambleaware.org.
