NFL: Zach Ertz cleared to play after ACL recovery

Zach Ertz is ready to play again. The free agent tight end has been cleared for all football activities after tearing his ACL last season, ESPN reported on Tuesday night. At 35, he plans to suit up for a 14th NFL campaign.

The proof came at Stanford, where Ertz spent Tuesday catching passes from Andrew Luck, his old college quarterback. He hurt his right knee during Washington’s 31-0 loss to Minnesota on Dec. 7, 2025, a season he still finished with 50 catches for 504 yards and four touchdowns in 13 starts.
