A win that brings the smiles back in Atlanta
The Atlanta Falcons dominated the Green Bay Packers 35 to 14 on Thursday night. It was the sort of result that can change a mood fast for a team on the brink. Atlanta came in at 0-2, fresh off a heavy 34-3 home loss to Carolina the week before. Across their first two games, the Falcons had managed just one touchdown.
Bijan Robinson carried the offense. The running back rushed 29 times for 194 yards and two touchdowns. He finished just one yard shy of his career best. Drake London delivered too. The receiver hauled in nine catches for 194 yards, a personal high. Half of Michael Penix Jr.’s completions found London.

Penix steps up, Green Bay falls apart
Penix was making his first appearance of the season. The quarterback was back after knee surgery following a torn ACL. He finished 18 completions from 25 attempts for 256 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
The Packers led 7-0 early. Then Atlanta ripped off 27 straight points. A blocked field goal by Zach Harrison kicked things off. Penix then hit Austin Hooper on a 5-yard pass to take control. Atlanta’s defense shut down the run completely: Green Bay finished with just 17 rushing yards on nine carries, a miserable total for a team that had already been the league’s worst in that area before kick-off. Jordan Love tried to keep the Packers in it, throwing for 312 yards, two touchdowns and one interception on 28 completions from 53 attempts.
A real turning point for Atlanta’s season
The loss also denied Green Bay a slice of NFL history. The Packers, fresh off an overtime win over the Jets, were chasing a first-ever run of consecutive home wins to open a season.
With this result, Atlanta gets back on its feet and moves to 1-2. The combined production from Robinson and London underlines what this offense can be when it actually functions. And with Penix looking sharp in his return, the Falcons at least have a clear attacking identity to build on as the schedule rolls on.
