A one-day delay at the last minute
Montpellier against Castres will now kick off on Sunday, 1 November at 3pm. The Top 14 fixture was due to be played on Saturday, 31 October at 4:35pm. RMC Sport reports that the police prefecture asked for the change because demonstrations are planned for Saturday.
Officers are being pulled toward the protests, which leaves fewer of them to cover sporting events. The same pressure has already forced changes to French football, with Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 games moved in recent weeks.

Two bigger games already shifted
The league had earlier announced changes to two round-nine games scheduled for the following weekend. Vannes, 14th, were due to host second-placed Bordeaux-Bègles at La Rabine on Saturday, 7 November at 2:30pm. That game now moves to Nantes on Sunday afternoon, 8 November, with no kick-off time confirmed yet. Leaders Toulouse will still host sixth-placed Clermont on 7 November, but at 2:30pm instead of 4:35pm.
The league moved those two games around ten days before kick-off. It had no such margin for Montpellier-Castres, which is why the switch came with only two days of notice.
