Two down at the break
Diego Moreira watched the first half from the bench. Lazio were pulling Milan apart in front of him.
Matteo Cancellieri opened the scoring after ten minutes in Rome, arriving to meet a Mattia Zaccagni cross. Tijjani Noslin made it two on 39 minutes with a close-range finish, and the hosts had further chances to put the game out of reach before the interval. Ruben Amorim had seen enough. He made three changes at half-time, sending on Christian Pulisic and Moreira.
“We weren’t in the game at all in the first half, we lacked energy and we gave them too much space,” Amorim said afterwards. “After the break, we were a totally different team, the game was turned on its head but we still have a lot of work to do.”

Ninety seconds that flipped it
Moreira volleyed home on 65 minutes to halve the deficit. Less than two minutes later the 22-year-old Belgium winger struck again, a fierce effort from outside the box that brought Milan level at 2-2. Neither side managed a late winner.
For the former Strasbourg player it was the afternoon that turned a substitute appearance into the story of the weekend in Italy. Amorim, the former Manchester United manager, had spent 45 minutes watching his team chase shadows, and his reward came from the bench rather than from anything he reorganised at the back.
What it does to the table
Lazio lose the perfect record they had built with three straight wins to start the campaign, yet they still move to the top of Serie A on ten points. Gennaro Gattuso’s side had been the early pace-setters and remain there, with a blemish now attached. Milan are fourth on eight points, a week after drawing away at Juventus.
Genoa picked up their first point of the season on Saturday in a 1-1 draw with Frosinone, and Atalanta host Cagliari in the day’s closing fixture. Champions Inter host Udinese on Monday, Roma travel to Torino and Como welcome Parma. Inter and Roma have both won all three of their matches so far, which means Lazio’s stay at the summit may last only until Monday night.
