A 34 million pound move is being talked up
Manchester City are said to be closing in on Allan, the 22-year-old Brazilian right winger from Palmeiras. The fee being floated is around 34 million pounds, according to Opta Analyst. Nothing is official yet.
The motive is easy to spot: replace Savinho, who has gone to Tottenham. Omar Marmoush has also left the Etihad this summer. Two wingers out, a gap to fill.

The night Palmeiras turned over LDU Quito
To see why his name is doing the rounds, you have to go back to October. Palmeiras came home from Ecuador after a 3-0 defeat by LDU Quito in the first leg of their Copa Libertadores semi-final. The second leg looked like a formality for the Ecuadorians.
Palmeiras won 4-0.
Allan was at the heart of it all. In the 19th minute he cut inside and whipped in a cross that Ramon Sosa turned home. With 22 minutes left, he recycled a corner, beat one defender, drove into the box, skipped past another and was brought down. Penalty, converted, qualification secured.
He was 21 then and on one of the lowest wages in the senior squad. At youth level, he had been completely overshadowed by Estevao and Endrick. “Allan hardly played for the under-20s,” Abel Ferreira admitted after that night.
The Portuguese coach had already warned his sporting director, Anderson Barros: “Allan cannot leave Palmeiras.” He was already talking about his “incredible unpredictability and directness”.
A dribbler whose end product is still thin
The numbers from the Brasileiro 2026 back up the profile. Allan attempts 4.98 dribbles per 90 minutes, the 10th-highest total in the league among players with more than 600 minutes. His 1,553 minutes on the pitch matter too: eight of the nine players above him have played far less. The output has held up over time.
His success rate stands at 55.8%, 12th among the 69 players to attempt at least 30 dribbles. He has also completed 16 runs in which he beats more than one opponent in the same move, four more than anyone else. He is eighth for progressive carries of at least 10 metres, with 72.
The picture gets shakier in the final third. With 1.27 open-play chances created per 90 minutes, he drops outside the league’s top 20. He has been involved in 12 decisive actions since the start of 2025, a figure bettered by four Palmeiras players on their own. His 0.21 expected goals plus expected assists per 90 since 2025, excluding penalties, put him 10th in his own squad among players with more than 500 minutes.
What may have tipped the balance lies elsewhere. Allan has recovered 57 balls this season, ninth among the league’s forwards and wingers, even though several players above him operate in far more defensive sides. Palmeiras average 51.3% possession. He also attempts 1.7 tackles per 90 minutes, 13th in the same group.
Ferreira summed it up after the win against Vasco da Gama. “These teams want a player like Allan because he does what 90% of wingers here cannot do: attack and defend up and down the flank.” He also pointed out that he used him at right back against Inter Miami in the 2025 Club World Cup, and thinks he can handle wing-back duties in a back three.
The question is what City would actually do with that kind of player. Pep Guardiola’s exit this summer opens the door to a side that leans more on transition. Allan would fit that. The tougher part is whether the final ball and the numbers in the attacking third can keep up, and that’s rarely the easy bit.
