Malonga makes the leap
Eighteen years old. A deal through 2031. And a grown-up decision already made.
Hermann Malonga is leaving Paris Saint-Germain for RC Strasbourg. The centre-back, out of contract as an apprentice in Paris, has officially joined the Alsace outfit. Manchester City had come calling. He turned down England.
Racing have landed one of French football’s brightest prospects.

A pure PSG academy product
Malonga did not come out of nowhere. Trained at PSG, he anchored the national U19 back line over the past few months. The 2025-2026 campaign will sit long in the memory: a Coupe Gambardella and a league title, the double. Not bad at all.
A France U17 international, the 2008-born defender had been turning heads well beyond the capital. Several of Europe’s big clubs had him on their lists. Strasbourg won the race.
Why the move makes sense
RC Strasbourg have built a reputation on it. Trust the kids. Give them minutes. Let them grow in the deep end of Ligue 1.
For an 18-year-old defender, that usually beats sitting on a gilded bench in Manchester. The hard part starts now, making the jump from youth football to the senior game, every weekend, under real pressure. The talent is there. So is the path. The rest is on him. Racing have given him the stage.
