Levski Sofia vs Universitatea Craiova: a finely balanced clash in Bulgaria 
The second qualifying round of the Champions League throws up a meeting between two national champions who are both keen to keep their European run going. Levski Sofia come into this match in excellent form. Julio Velazquez’s side have just swept aside Borac Banja Luka in style before getting their league title defence off to the perfect start. They are now unbeaten in 10 games in all competitions, and the team already looks well drilled.
At home, the Bulgarians are especially hard to shift. Nine of their last 10 competitive matches in front of their own fans have ended in victory, with a defence that is rarely caught out and an attack capable of making the difference more than once. Reinaldo, Armstrong Oko-Flex and Everton Bala are forming an attacking trio that is steadily finding its rhythm.
Even with a few absentees in the Levski Sofia squad, Julio Velazquez should have most of his usual starters back after making heavy changes in league action. The aim will be to build an edge before a trip to Romania that looks like a tough one.
Universitatea Craiova have the tools to respond 
The Romanian champions also booked their place in this second round without much fuss. They handled their two-legged tie with Vitebsk comfortably and arrive in Bulgaria intent on extending their European campaign.
Craiova’s side is built on a disciplined defensive shape and players who can hurt teams in transition. The changes made last weekend paid off, giving the coach more options ahead of this important trip.
Even with several players still unavailable, the Romanians have enough experience to handle the pressure of the Georgi Asparuhov Stadium, Levski Sofia’s home ground. A draw would already be a very decent outcome before the return leg at home.
